Social media users have uploaded thousands of posts falsely claiming that a lockdown is imminent — posts that have spread rapidly and caused unnecessary alarm among the public.

Arrest Those Spreading Rumours

The Telangana Government Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) and the Telangana Teaching Government Doctors Association (TTGDA) both issued sharp statements on Saturday, demanding that the government immediately reconsider the proposal and consult recognised medical associations before proceeding further.

"Superintendents Will Become Figureheads"

The TGGDA was unsparing in its criticism of the proposal. In a strongly worded statement, the association warned that placing Group-1 officers in administrative roles within government teaching hospitals would directly erode the powers of existing hospital superintendents — reducing them to mere figureheads with no real authority over the institutions they are supposed to lead.

TGGDA President Narahari and General Secretary Lalu Prasad Rathod argued that there is simply no compelling justification for transferring administrative responsibilities from medically qualified superintendents to Group-1 civil service officers.

A Demand for Dialogue

The TGGDA has explicitly called on the government to engage with recognised medical associations before taking any further steps. The TTGDA has demanded an immediate reversal of the proposal in its current form.

Neither association has indicated what further action it may take if the government presses ahead without dialogue — but the strength of feeling in Telangana's government medical community suggests that the response would be swift and significant.

Rama Rao on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Telangana government, demanding the immediate dismissal of Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy over what he described as a brazen family scam — and accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of deliberately protecting the minister despite acknowledging wrongdoing.

Speaking in his characteristically sharp and combative style, KTR — as the BRS leader is widely known — pulled no punches in his assault on the ruling Congress government, raising questions that he said demand urgent answers from the Chief Minister.

"CM Admitted Wrongdoing — But Still Won't Act"

KTR alleged that the exposure of Minister Ponguleti's family scam has left the Telangana government rattled and desperate. What makes the situation even more damning, he argued, is the Chief Minister's own admission.

"The Chief Minister himself has acknowledged that irregularities have taken place," KTR said. "Yet no legal action has been initiated. One must ask — is the Chief Minister protecting the minister because he too has a share in this corruption?"

It was a pointed and provocative question — one that the BRS leader clearly intended to land with maximum political force.

At the center of the controversy is Raghava Constructions — a company of which KTR claims Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy served as chairman between 2020 and 2022. "The facts are clear," KTR said. "Ponguleti was the chairman of Raghava Constructions. The attempt to pass it off as belonging to distant relatives fools nobody."

KTR broadened his attack beyond the immediate controversy, using the platform to deliver a comprehensive indictment of what he called the Congress government's two and a half years of governance failure.

"In two and a half years, the Chief Minister has not done a single thing that has benefited the people of Telangana," KTR charged. "Not one. And yet a minister accused of corruption continues to sit in his chair, his family protected, his wrongdoing unpunished."

He demanded pointed answers from the Chief Minister — why has action not been taken against the minister? Why is the minister's family being shielded? What message does this send to the people of Telangana?

KTR did not limit his allegations to the Ponguleti family controversy. He widened the scope of his attack to include what he described as widespread irregularities in the mining sector across Telangana.

Most explosive among his allegations was the claim that Bhagyalakshmi Mining in Kokapet — a prominent location in Hyderabad — belongs to relatives of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself. The allegation, if proven, would represent a significant conflict of interest at the highest levels of the state government.

"Mining has become a cover for large-scale illegality across this state," KTR alleged. "And the connections lead all the way to the Chief Minister's own family."

The L&T Land Controversy

KTR also trained his fire on what he described as a dangerous conspiracy surrounding 280 acres of land leased by the previous BRS government to engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro.

He alleged that what he called the "Danduppalya batch" — a reference he used to describe a group within the ruling establishment — is plotting to illegally seize this land. More alarmingly, KTR claimed that the Chief Financial Officer of L&T had been threatened with imprisonment in an attempt to intimidate the company.

"This is a massive scandal," KTR said, his voice rising with controlled fury. "Threatening the CFO of one of India's most respected companies with jail — what kind of government does this? What kind of governance is this?"

He described the entire episode as a "large-scale conspiracy" that strikes at the heart of investor confidence in Telangana.

"We Will Go to the Governor"

KTR made clear that the BRS is not prepared to let these issues rest — and issued a direct warning to the Telangana government.

If the government fails to act on the allegations and continues to ignore the opposition's demands, he said, the BRS will escalate the matter to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and lodge a formal complaint seeking intervention.

"We will go to the Governor if this government refuses to listen," KTR declared. "These are not small matters. These are issues of governance, of corruption, of public money being plundered — and someone must be held accountable."

The first-ever Legislators Sports and Cultural Meet 2026 threw open its doors at the iconic Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad, bringing together MLAs, MLCs, MPs, ministers, and the Chief Minister himself in a spectacle that was one part sporting competition, one part political theatre, and entirely, gloriously, human.

It was history. And it was a lot of fun.

Eleven Years in the Making

Think about this for a moment.

Telangana has existed as a state for over a decade. In that time, its legislators have debated budgets, passed laws, fought elections, and argued across the aisle with the full-throated passion that Indian democracy demands.

But never — not once in eleven years — had the state's MLAs and MLCs come together for a sporting and cultural event of their own.

Until Saturday.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, and Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukender Reddy jointly inaugurated the meet in a ceremony that set the tone for an evening of laughter, competition, and genuine cross-party warmth. The Chief Minister Has Four Goals to His Name

Here is something you do not read in political dispatches every day: the Chief Minister of Telangana scored four goals in a football match on Saturday evening.

Four. Goals.

Revanth Reddy — already known for his boundless energy and his love of sport — threw himself into the football competition with an enthusiasm that left the crowd thoroughly entertained. The Message Beneath the Medals

But strip away the fun and the football, and there is a serious point at the heart of Saturday's event — one that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made with characteristic bluntness.

Telangana's youth are at a crossroads. And the Chief Minister has chosen his side.

"Leave the path of intoxication. Take the path of the field."

That is the message Revanth Reddy has been carrying across the state — through the CM Cup competitions that his government has run from village level all the way up to the state level, and now through Saturday's legislators' meet. "We are keeping youth away from pubs, feasts, farmhouse parties, drugs, cannabis, and intoxication," the Chief Minister said, his tone sharpening noticeably as he addressed the opposition's decision to boycott the event. Some opposition MLAs and MLCs had announced they would not participate — a choice Revanth Reddy dismissed with barely concealed disdain.

"They are only thinking about farmhouse parties," he said. "We are steering youth away from all of that."

His address to the state's students was passionate and personal. "Develop an interest in sports. Excel in them. Enhance the recognition and honour of the country. You will also have the opportunity to build your own future," he urged — words that carried the weight of a government that believes sport is not a luxury but a lifeline.

The CM Cup programme, he explained, was designed specifically to "unearth diamonds hidden in the soil of rural areas" — a recognition that sporting talent in Telangana does not only grow in city academies and expensive coaching centres, but in dusty village fields where children play barefoot under the afternoon sun.

Promises From the Podium

అనంతరం మాట్లాడుతూ… నిధులను మంజూరు చేసిన తరువాతే ఎంపీటీసీ, జడ్పీటీసీ, మున్సిపల్ ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఎన్నికల కోడ్ సాకుతో నిధుల విడుదలలో జాప్యం చేస్తే కాంగ్రెస్ సర్కార్ మెడలు వంచేందుకు పెద్ద ఎత్తున పోరాటాలు చేస్తామన్నారు. కరీంనగర్ పార్లమెంట్ పరిధిలో బీజేపీ సర్పంచులను గెలిపించిన గ్రామాలను అన్ని విధాలా అభివ్రుద్ది చేసి ఆదర్శంగా తీర్చిదిద్దుతామన్నారు.

హైదరాబాద్: తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర హైకోర్టు కీలక తీర్పు వెలువరించింది. ఇటీవల విడుదలైన గ్రూప్-1 మెయిన్స్ ఫలితాలను రద్దు చేస్తూ మంగళవారం సంచలన తీర్పు ఇచ్చింది.

మెయిన్స్ పరీక్ష పేపర్లను రీవాల్యుయేషన్ చేయాలని, ఆ రీవాల్యుయేషన్ ఆధారంగా ఫలితాలు ప్రకటించాలని టిజిపిఎస్‌సి ఆదేశించింది. రీవాల్యుయేషన్ సాధ్యం కానట్లయితే మళ్లీ పరీక్షలు నిర్వహించాల్సి ఉంటుందని హైకోర్టు స్పష్టం చేసింది.

మూల్యాంకనంలో అక్రమాలు జరిగాయని ఆరోపిస్తూ కొందరు అభ్యర్థులు హైకోర్టులో పిటిషన్లు వేశారు. మరోవైపు ఇప్పటికే ఉద్యోగాలకు ఎంపికైన అభ్యర్థులు పరీక్షలు రద్దు చేయొద్దని వాదించారు. ఇరువురి వాదనలు విన్న హైకోర్టు తుది తీర్పు ఇచ్చి ఫలితాలను రద్దు చేసింది.

హైదరాబాద్: పాలమూరు-రంగారెడ్డి ప్రాజెక్టు వెనుకబాటుకు కాంగ్రెస్, టిడిపి కారణమని బిఆర్ఎస్ కార్యనిర్వాహక అధ్యక్షుడు కెటిఆర్ మండిపడ్డారు. పాలమూరు ప్రజలు సిఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి మీద నమ్మకంతో 12 సీట్లు ఇచ్చారని గుర్తుచేశారు.

జడ్చర్లలో మీడియాతో మాట్లాడిన కెటిఆర్, “మేము పాలమూరు-రంగారెడ్డి ప్రాజెక్టు పనులు 90 శాతం పూర్తి చేశాం. ఇంకా 10 శాతం పనులు ముగిస్తే 12 లక్షల ఎకరాలకు నీరు అందుతుంది. కానీ కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం 22 నెలలు గడిపినా పాలమూరుకు ఏమాత్రం మేలు జరగలేదు” అని విమర్శించారు.

కాంగ్రెస్‌లో చేరిన 10 మంది ఎమ్మెల్యేలకు సంబంధించి పిసిసి అధ్యక్షుడు మహేశ్ కుమార్ గౌడ్ చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలను ప్రస్తావిస్తూ, స్పీకర్ ఇప్పటికీ చర్యలు తీసుకోవడంలో మొహమాటం ఎందుకని ప్రశ్నించారు. “కాంగ్రెస్‌లో చేరిన ఎమ్మెల్యేల పరిస్థితి దయనీయంగా ఉంది. పార్టీ మారకపోతే బిఆర్ఎస్ ఎల్పీకి ఎందుకు రాలేదో?” అని నిలదీశారు.

పార్టీ మారిన ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై తప్పనిసరిగా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని, పిసిసి అధ్యక్షుడి స్టేట్‌మెంట్‌ను సుప్రీంకోర్టు ముందుంచుతామని హెచ్చరించారు. కాంగ్రెస్ కండువా కప్పుకున్నవారు సిగ్గులేకుండా పార్టీ మారలేదని చెప్తున్నారని కేటిఆర్ తీవ్రంగా ఎద్దేవా చేశారు.

హైదరాబాద్: దేశంలో తలసరి ఆదాయంలో తెలంగాణ అగ్రస్థానంలో నిలిచిందని డిప్యూటీ సీఎం మల్లు భట్టి విక్రమార్క సోమవారం ప్రకటించారు. ప్రతి వ్యక్తి ఆదాయంలో సగటుగా రూ. 3.87 లక్షలతో ఈ ఘనతను సాధించినట్లు తెలిపారు. ప్రజాభవన్‌లో రాష్ట్రస్థాయి బ్యాంకర్ల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడుతూ, కర్ణాటక, హర్యానాలను అధిగమించి ఐదు సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత తొలిసారి అగ్రస్థానం సాధించామని ఆయన తెలిపారు.

వ్యవసాయం రాష్ట్ర ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థకు వెన్నుముక
రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం వ్యవసాయ రంగాన్ని ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థకు వెన్నుముకగా భావిస్తుందని భట్టి విక్రమార్క అన్నారు. రైతులను ఆస్తుల తాకట్టు పెట్టాలని, ఫిక్స్‌డ్ డిపాజిట్‌లను చేయమని ఒత్తిడి చేయరాదు అని సూచించారు. బ్యాంకర్లకు మానవీయ కోణంలో ఆలోచించాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.

మొదటి క్వార్టర్‌లోనే 33.64% సాధన
2025-26 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరపు మొదటి త్రైమాసికంలో ప్రాధాన్య రంగ రుణాల విభాగంలో మంచి ఫలితాలు సాధించటం పట్ల సంతోషం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. వార్షిక రుణ లక్ష్యాల్లో మొదటి త్రైమాసికంలోనే 33.64% సాధించడం అభినందనీయమన్నారు. రాష్ట్రం నిరంతరం అధిక సిడి రేషియోను కొనసాగించటం గర్వకారణమని, ఈ త్రైమాసికంలో 126.50% రేషియో నమోదు చేయబడిందని వివరించారు.

బ్యాంకుల సహకారం మరింత అవసరం
ఇందిరా మహిళా శక్తి పథకం కింద స్వయం సహాయక సంఘాల మహిళలను సాధికారత కల్పించేందుకు, ఆదాయ సృష్టి కార్యకలాపాలకు బ్యాంకులు మరింత రుణ సహాయం అందించాలని డిప్యూటీ సీఎం కోరారు. హ్యామ్ ప్రాజెక్ట్ కింద రాష్ట్రంలో 13,000 కిలోమీటర్ల అంతర్గత రహదారుల నిర్మాణానికి ఇది దోహదపడుతుందని, ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులో బ్యాంకులు చురుకు పాల్గొనాలని సూచించారు.

ఇందిరమ్మ ఇళ్ల నిర్మాణానికి బ్యాంకుల పాత్ర
ప్రభుత్వ ఆలోచనలను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకొని రైతులకు, సామాజిక వర్గాలకు రుణాలు సకాలంలో, పెద్ద ఎత్తున అందించమని డిప్యూటీ సీఎం సూచించారు. రాష్ట్రంలో మొదటి సంవత్సరం నాలుగున్నర లక్షల ఇందిరమ్మ ఇళ్ళ నిర్మాణం జరుగుతోందని, ఒక్కో ఇంటి నిర్మాణానికి ఐదు లక్షలు ఖర్చు జరుగుతుందని వెల్లడించారు. ఈ ఇళ్ల లబ్ధిదారులకు బ్యాంకులు రుణాలు అందించాల్సిందని ప్రత్యేకంగా డిమాండ్ చేశారు.

పాశమైలారం: సంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా పాశమైలారంలోని సిగాచీ పరిశ్రమలో జరిగిన భారీ పేలుడు ఘటనలో మృతుల సంఖ్య 40కి చేరింది. శిథిలాల నుంచి అధికారులు తాజాగా మిగిలిన ముగ్గురు కార్మికుల మృతదేహాలను గుర్తించారు. వారిలో ఇద్దరు బీహార్‌కు చెందినవారు కాగా, మరొకరు ఒడిశాకు చెందిన కార్మికుడిగా గుర్తించారు. ఇప్పటివరకు మొత్తం 36 మృతదేహాలను గుర్తించి, వారి కుటుంబాలకు అప్పగించినట్లు అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు.

ఈ ఘటనపై స్పందిస్తూ బీహార్‌ నేతలు సంఘటన స్థలాన్ని సందర్శించి, బాధిత కుటుంబాలను పరామర్శించారు. పాశమైలారంలో సహాయ కేంద్రం వద్ద బీహార్‌ ఎంపీ సహా పలువురు నేతలు బాధితులతో మాట్లాడారు. పరిశ్రమ శిథిలాల తొలగింపు ఆరవ రోజు కూడా కొనసాగుతోంది. ఎస్‌డీఆర్‌ఎఫ్‌ మరియు హైడ్రా సిబ్బంది కలిసి భవన శిథిలాలను తొలగించేందుకు చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నారు.

అంతేకాదు, ఈ ఘటనలో గాయపడిన మున్మున్‌ చౌదరి అనే మహిళా కార్మికురాలు ధ్రువ ఆసుపత్రిలో చికిత్స పొందుతూ మృతి చెందారు. దీంతో సిగాచీ పరిశ్రమ పేలుడులో ఇప్పటివరకు మృతుల సంఖ్య 40కి పెరిగింది. సహాయ బృందాలు మిగిలిన శిథిలాలను తొలగిస్తూ మరిన్ని వివరాలను వెలికితీయాలని యత్నిస్తున్నాయి.
