Vijayawada: Describing organ donation as the highest expression of human compassion, Devarapalli Suresh Babu, State President of the SC/ST Employees Association, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of Kasturi Krishnamurthy, a retired KCP employee who passed away recently after a prolonged illness, and praised the family's decision to donate the deceased's organs.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Suresh Babu said the family's resolve to donate their loved one's organs even while grieving his loss was an act of extraordinary courage and selflessness. By giving others a new lease of life through their decision, the Krishnamurthy family had demonstrated what he called the highest form of altruism — one that transcended personal loss in service of humanity.

"Organ donation is not merely a medical act. It is a supreme sacrifice, a gift of life that embodies the finest values of human existence," he said, lauding the family for their inspiring example.

Mr. Suresh Babu called upon every citizen to take inspiration from the Krishnamurthy family and come forward to pledge their organs, emphasising that the act of saving lives through donation recognised no barriers of caste, religion, or class. He expressed the hope that the family's decision would inspire others to renew their commitment to such noble humanitarian causes.

He garlanded the portrait of the late Krishnamurthy, offered floral tributes, and prayed for peace to his soul.

The programme was attended by association leader Medepalli Subbarao and Kasturi Vijay, son of the deceased and a noted blood donor, among others.
