Former India head coach and batting legend Rahul Dravid has made his entry into franchise cricket ownership, acquiring the Dublin Guardians in the inaugural European T20 Premier League. Dravid made the announcement on Monday, marking his first foray into cricket administration beyond the coaching role he relinquished after India's T20 World Cup triumph.

The European T20 Premier League, comprising six franchises, is scheduled to get underway on August 26 and is expected to attract several international stars, with the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell among those set to feature in the competition.

Dravid's acquisition of the Dublin-based franchise signals growing interest from prominent cricket figures in emerging T20 leagues across Europe, as the format continues to expand its global footprint beyond traditional cricket strongholds.
