Participating in the district-level training camp organised under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Maha Abhiyan in Kurnool, Mr. Madhav addressed party workers on ideological orientation, organisational responsibilities, leadership development and public outreach.

He said the BJP recognised and encouraged every worker who served the party with commitment and selflessness. Party cadre, he observed, were the true ambassadors responsible for taking the party’s ideology and welfare initiatives to the people.

Mr. Madhav underlined the need for continuous training to strengthen leadership qualities, social awareness and responsiveness to public issues among party workers. He urged cadre to uphold values such as patriotism, discipline, dedication to society and service-mindedness while remaining closely connected with people at the grassroots level.

Stressing the growing influence of social media in shaping public opinion, he advised workers to remain vigilant against misinformation and effectively counter false propaganda with facts. He also called upon party cadre to maintain cordial relations with the public and safeguard the party’s credibility through responsible conduct.

Referring to national issues, Mr. Madhav said the country was passing through a phase that required citizens to remain alert on matters concerning national security, democratic values and social harmony. He pointed to global geopolitical developments and the spread of misinformation on digital platforms as areas of concern.

He said the Union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi was taking firm measures to strengthen national security, economic stability and internal governance. Citizens, irrespective of political affiliations, should work collectively for the protection of the Constitution and national integrity, he said.

Mr. Madhav also urged youth not to rely on unverified information circulating on social media platforms and instead trust official sources of information. He criticised certain Opposition parties for allegedly placing political interests above national priorities.

Calling for responsible use of resources, he said people should reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and limit avoidable foreign travel, while drawing inspiration from what he described as the Prime Minister’s own efforts towards austerity.

He concluded by urging citizens to unite with the spirit of “nation before politics” for the country’s development and security.

The AP Medical Services Recruitment Board had issued a notification on behalf of the Director of Public Health to fill 630 Medical Officer posts on a permanent basis, against which 4,984 applications were received. Following scrutiny under prescribed rules, online counselling was conducted to fill 611 posts — excluding those reserved under the sports quota — from a finalised selection list. Of those called for counselling, 482 candidates registered their preferences.

The Director of Public Health has requested the Recruitment Board to furnish a fresh merit list of remaining eligible candidates from the original selection list drawn up under last year's notification. A revised list will be prepared in accordance with reservation rules and other applicable norms, and fresh online counselling will be conducted shortly. The coalition government has been taking continuous steps to ensure zero vacancy in public health posts, the Minister said.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP State office in Vijayawada, party State general secretary Nagotu Ramesh Naidu accused Congress and its allies — the Trinamool Congress, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Samajwadi Party — of collectively blocking legislation that sought to ensure equal political representation for women. "They are celebrating this obstruction as though it were a great victory," he said.

Mr. Naidu recalled that the Congress-led UPA government had, during the tenure of Rajiv Gandhi, enacted special legislation in the Shah Bano case overriding a Supreme Court ruling. He further noted that while Sonia Gandhi had successfully steered the Women's Reservation Bill through the Rajya Sabha, the party failed to bring it to a vote in the Lok Sabha. He accused the Congress of using Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to play what he termed a "Shikandi role" in obstructing the bill.

Asserting that delimitation must not be carried out on the basis of population ratios alone, Mr. Naidu said the BJP remained committed to reintroducing the Women's Reservation Bill and securing its passage. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards making women equal partners in the nation's development, and no obstacle will deter that goal," he said.

The party announced a series of protest events across Andhra Pradesh. On April 24, a demonstration will be held in Vijayawada with BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav, Minister Kandula Durgesh and TDP State president Palla Srinivasarao as chief guests. A parallel protest will be organised in Rajamahendravari under the leadership of MP Daggubati Purandeswari on the same day.

On April 25, Union Minister of State Bhupatiraju Srinivas Varma will participate in protests at Tirupati, while a separate programme is scheduled in Kurnool.

BJP NTR District president Adduri Sriram was also present at the press conference.

The fresh consignment follows an earlier batch of 1,90,800 doses supplied last month under the first instalment of the Central government's HPV vaccination initiative, taking the total doses received by the state to 3,81,780. The vaccine is being administered to girls in the 14 to 15 age group as part of a targeted public health intervention aimed at preventing cervical cancer.

Mr. Yadav said authorities were taking steps to distribute the newly arrived doses to districts in proportion to the number of eligible girls in each area. He confirmed that vaccination centres across the state would continue to function without interruption through May, and added that the completion of Class X public examinations was expected to further accelerate the pace of inoculation as school-going girls became more accessible.

Over One Lakh Girls Vaccinated So Far

According to data compiled from village and ward secretariats, there are approximately 3.45 lakh girls in the state who have completed 14 years of age but have not yet turned 15 — the designated target group for the current phase of the drive. Of these, 1,14,512 girls, representing 33.19 per cent of the total, had received the vaccine by Monday afternoon.

Among the districts, Kurnool recorded the highest number of beneficiaries at 6,785, followed closely by Nellore at 6,726, YSR district at 6,725, and Anantapur at 6,655. At the other end of the spectrum, Polavaram district reported the lowest coverage with 669 girls vaccinated, followed by Alluri Sitarama Raju district at 1,063, Sri Sathya Sai at 2,769, and Anakapalli at 2,959.

The vaccine is being administered at 1,645 primary and urban health centres across the state that have been identified as having adequate cold chain storage facilities. Health officials said girls were being observed for 30 minutes after receiving the shot as a standard precautionary measure, and that no adverse reaction cases had been reported thus far.

In keeping with Central government directives, 500 doses from the first consignment were separately dispatched to Yanam. Officials noted that Andhra Pradesh was among the states in the forefront of implementing the Central guidelines on HPV vaccination, describing the initiative as a critical step towards reducing the burden of cervical cancer.

Mr. Yadav reiterated that the HPV vaccine was both safe and effective and urged parents to ensure that eligible girls in the target age group availed themselves of the free vaccination at the nearest health centre before the current drive concluded.

Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, accusing him of political inconsistency and deliberate obstructionism in the wake of the Central Government's introduction of a bill in the Lok Sabha to grant statutory recognition to Amaravati as the official capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at a press conference in Amaravati, Mr. Yadav said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's public claim at his Tadepalli residence that he was not opposed to Amaravati as the capital stood exposed within hours, when YSRCP members staged a walkout in the Lok Sabha during the passage of the bill. "The question and the answer are both Jagan's own," the minister said pointedly, adding that the former Chief Minister's remarks that a future government could pass a contrary resolution had, in fact, revealed the very reason why parliamentary legislation was necessary to ensure permanence.

Gratitude to Centre

Minister Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for expeditiously introducing the bill in Parliament, shortly after the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly had passed a resolution in favour of according statutory status to Amaravati. He also thanked the several political parties that extended support to the legislation in the Lok Sabha.

'Jagan's Duplicity Exposed'

Mr. Yadav alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had displayed a pattern of duplicity from the outset on the capital question. He recalled that the former Chief Minister had, on the floor of the state legislature, himself suggested that Amaravati should be developed across at least 33,000 acres. Yet, once in power, he had pursued a three-capital formula — a move the minister described as a deliberate act of sabotage — while simultaneously diverting thousands of acres of valuable land in Visakhapatnam to benami interests and spending ₹500 crore of public money on a personal residence for his family in the port city. "While Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu sees in Amaravati the dreams of the people, the former Chief Minister sees only imagined corruption where none exists," Mr. Yadav said.

Contrasting Visions

The minister drew a sharp contrast between the two administrations. He noted that in the aftermath of bifurcation in 2014, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had laid the groundwork for a world-class capital at Amaravati to fulfil the aspirations of a people who had lost their capital through the division of the state. The subsequent five-year tenure of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he alleged, had seen deliberate neglect and near-destruction of the capital project, facts that the people of Andhra Pradesh were fully aware of when they voted the YSRCP out of power.

'Answer Questions in the Assembly, Not at Press Meets'

Taking aim at Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to hold a press conference at his Tadepalli residence to raise questions about the Amaravati project, Minister Yadav questioned why the former Chief Minister and his party's 11 legislators were consistently absent from the sessions of the state legislature. "The questions he raises at press conferences would carry far greater weight and democratic legitimacy if raised on the floor of the Assembly, on behalf of the constituents who elected him," he said, adding that press conference rhetoric without legislative participation lacked credibility and commitment.

Rayalaseema's Grievance

Mr. Yadav also turned his attention to what he termed the "unforgivable betrayal" of Rayalaseema under the previous government. He alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised Kurnool the status of a judicial capital, only to scale that down to a mere High Court bench, and had ultimately failed to even formally submit a proposal to that effect. Not a single major project had been established in Rayalaseema during the YSRCP's five-year tenure, he alleged, and crucial irrigation projects in the region had been left to languish through deliberate neglect. In contrast, he said, the present coalition government had drawn up comprehensive plans for the equitable development of all three regions of the state — Andhra, Rayalaseema, and North Andhra — and was actively implementing them.

The minister concluded by asserting that no amount of conspiracy or misinformation from Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would impede the emergence of a grand capital at Amaravati under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's leadership.

Kurnool ( Journalist File ), November 4: Minister TG Bharat highlighted the efforts of Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu in addressing longstanding infrastructure issues in the Kurnool district, notably the repairs on the Budameru Canal, which he said would not have been possible under a YSRCP government. Bharat was speaking at a meeting of NDA alliance leaders, including TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena leaders, at the Maurya Hotel in Kurnool.

Bharat praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s governance, describing it as “politically strategic and goal-oriented,” and emphasized Naidu’s focus on efficient implementation. Bharat expressed gratitude for the work done by Jana Sena and BJP during elections, stating that coalition workers have the right to drive initiatives and should actively participate in development work. Addressing regional challenges, he noted the need to create employment opportunities locally to curb migration from Kurnool. He called for a TDP-led coalition government to be in power for the next two decades, allowing time to address lingering issues and promote industrial growth.

Meanwhile, Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu, who has recently taken charge as Kurnool District Minister-in-Charge, emphasized his commitment to the region. He expressed pride in being able to serve a backward district like Kurnool and cited the impressive strike rate of 93% in previous elections as a benchmark for future success. Ramanaidu criticized the YSRCP for resorting to divisive politics, alleging that their social media efforts are aimed at creating discord among communities. “YSRCP is like a party on a ventilator,” he said, accusing Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of misleading the public.

Ramanaidu also highlighted the government’s focus on resolving the sand supply issues and implementing a strict “free sand policy.” He acknowledged certain operational challenges and attributed them to previous administrative mismanagement. He mentioned that the National Green Tribunal’s cases against the previous government had impacted sand availability in certain regions, especially East Godavari, where high contract fees had forced some contractors into financial distress.

The Minister also emphasized the urgent need for irrigation projects in Kurnool. He outlined the government's commitment to complete pending projects, citing that 2500 crore rupees had been sanctioned for the Handri-Neeva project after years of neglect under the previous government. He pointed to several critical projects, including Vedavathi, Gundrevula, RDS, Alaganur, Gajuladinne, and Guru Raghavendra, that are receiving special attention.

The meeting concluded with the participation of coalition representatives and MLAs, along with Ministers TG Bharat and Nimmala Ramanaidu, emphasizing the coalition’s intent to drive development across the district and ensure that pending projects are addressed comprehensively.
