గుంటూరు ( జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్ ) : గుంటూరు ఛానల్ విస్తరణ పనులను త్వరగా ప్రారంభించాలి. అలాగే పూసేకరణ సర్వే పనులతో పాటు త్వరితగతన పనులను ప్రారంభించాలి." అని గ్రామీణ అభివృద్ధి, కమ్యూనికేషన్స్ శాఖ కేంద్ర సహాయ మంత్రి డాక్టర్ పెమ్మసాని చంద్రశేఖర్ మాట్లాడారు.

గుంటూరు ఛానల్ అభివృద్ధి పనులలో భాగంగా ప్రభుత్వం విడుదల చేసిన నిధులకు తగ్గట్టుగా పనులు ప్రారంభించాలని సూచిస్తూ పెమ్మసాని తన క్యాంప్ కార్యాలయంలో ఇరిగేషన్ అధికారులతో శుక్రవారం ప్రత్యేక సమావేశమయ్యారు.

గుంటూరు, పల్నాడు ప్రాంతాలకు ఉపయోగపడేలా గుంటూరు ఛానల్ విస్తరణ అభివృద్ధి పనుల నిమిత్తం కేంద్రమంత్రి పెమ్మసాని చొరవతో 2025 - 26 బడ్జెట్లో భాగంగా రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం విస్తరణ, భూసేకరణకు కలిపి రూ. 400 కోట్లను నిధులను మంజూరు చేసింది. అందులో భాగంగా భూసేకరణకు రూ. 75 కోట్లను, విస్తరణకు రూ. 96 కోట్లను నాలుగు విడతలుగా విడుదల చేస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం తాజాగా నిర్ణయం ప్రకటించింది. కాగా ప్రభుత్వం విడుదల చేసిన నిధులతో త్వరితగతిన విస్తరణ భూసేకరణ పనులను త్వరగా ప్రారంభించాలని పెమ్మసాని అధికారులకు స్పష్టం చేశారు. అలాగే భూసేకరణలో భాగంగా నాలుగు గ్రామాల్లో నిర్వహించాలని సర్వే పనులను కాంట్రాక్టు సంస్థ చేపట్టాలని అధికారులకు ఆయన తెలియజేశారు ప్రభుత్వానికి అందించాల్సిన ప్రతిపాదనలు త్వరితగతిన పంపాలని, అభివృద్ధి పనులపై వ్యక్తిగత శ్రద్ధ తీసుకుని అధికారులు పనిచేయాలని ఆయన అన్నారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ఇరిగేషన్ శాఖ చీఫ్ ఇంజనీర్ రాంబాబు, సూపర్ ఇండియన్ వెంకటరత్నం తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

KTR Backs Laggacherla Land Victims, Demands Revocation of Acquisition Notification

Telangana, Hyderabad ( Journalist File ) : BRS Executive President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has assured the victims of land acquisition in Laggacherla that their demands will be raised in the upcoming Assembly sessions. On Friday, a delegation of Laggacherla land acquisition victims met KTR at Telangana Bhavan, where they detailed the issues they have been facing. KTR expressed solidarity with the victims, assuring them that the government would stand by them in their fight for justice.

The victims have been demanding that the state government immediately withdraw the land acquisition notification. In response, KTR vowed that the BRS party would continue to support the people's struggle until the land acquisition process in Laggacherla is revoked. "We will fight for the rights of the people, especially until the notification is completely rescinded," he said.

KTR further demanded the government to withdraw all cases filed against the tribal communities in Laggacherla, calling the charges unjust. "It is unacceptable for the government to target the tribal population and farmers with baseless cases while they are simply fighting for their rightful land," he said.

During the meeting, KTR also spoke with the district police superintendent over the phone, urging an end to the harassment of the victims through unlawful police cases. "It is a grave injustice to file false cases against those fighting for their land," he added.

KTR reminded the government of the earlier success in the Laggacherla struggle, where the notification was withdrawn after the victims’ persistent protests. He reiterated that the BRS would not allow the land to be taken for an industrial corridor under the guise of development.

The BRS leader also criticized the alleged misuse of tribal lands for private interests, pointing out the example of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s family reportedly seeking 500 acres of land in Velandand for industrial use. "Taking land from the tribals is an act of cruelty," KTR stated.

KTR also extended support to Patnam Narender Reddy, the former Kodangal MLA, who is currently incarcerated under controversial charges. "Though he is in jail, the BRS party will stand with the victims of Laggacherla in their fight for justice," KTR concluded.

Violent Clashes Erupt During Land Acquisition Meeting in Vikarabad’s Kodangal Constituency

Vikarabad (Journalist File): Tensions flared in Lagacharla village, located in the Kodangal constituency, when a public consultation meeting on land acquisition for a pharmaceutical company turned violent. The meeting, led by District Collector Prateek Jain and revenue officials, was intended to gather local opinions regarding the proposed acquisition of land. However, it quickly spiraled into chaos as villagers strongly objected to the location of the meeting, which was held away from the main village area.

When the Collector attempted to move the discussions to the village, local farmers greeted him with loud protests and slogans. The situation worsened when a group of farmers began throwing stones at the Collector’s vehicle. Despite his efforts to engage with the crowd and calm tensions, the protestors grew more aggressive, pelting stones at the vehicles of the Collector and Tahsildar. Faced with escalating hostility, the officials were forced to retreat.

Despite heavy police deployment in the area to prevent unrest, security around the Collector was inadequate when the meeting shifted to the village, leaving officials vulnerable to the angry crowd. The situation took another turn when the protestors attacked police officers who attempted to intervene, forcing law enforcement to respond with a baton charge to disperse the crowd.

The conflict stems from the state government’s plan to acquire 1,350 acres of land in Dudyala mandal, which is part of the Chief Minister’s home constituency. The land is intended to be given to a pharmaceutical company, though only 156 acres are government-owned, with the rest coming from private landowners. Local farmers, who have been cultivating this land for years, have voiced strong opposition, vowing not to part with it.

Accusations have also emerged that a Congress leader is behind the push for the pharmaceutical project, with villagers reportedly vandalizing the leader’s car and shattering its windows in retaliation. With tensions high, farmers have made it clear that they will fight any forced land acquisition efforts, warning of further resistance if the government proceeds.
