VIJAYAWADA, April 16: State Minister for Medical, Health and Family Welfare Y. Satyakumar Yadav on Thursday stressed that timely medical intervention in the critical first hour following a road accident could significantly improve the chances of saving lives, and called for collective responsibility in making Andhra Pradesh a accident-free State.

The Minister was speaking at a State-level stakeholders' consultation on the PM RAHAT — Pradhan Mantri Road Accident Hospitalisation and Assured Treatment — scheme, held at the Dr. NTR Health University auditorium here. He described the Central government's scheme as playing a pivotal role in ensuring that accident victims receive emergency medical care without financial burden, offering cashless treatment up to Rs. 1.50 lakh with no requirement of advance payment.

Underlining the need for seamless coordination among all departments for the effective implementation of the scheme across the State, the Minister called upon hospitals, ambulance services, police, and other concerned agencies to work in close tandem to ensure that victims receive immediate assistance. He directed officials to create widespread public awareness about the scheme and emphasised that every hospital must have a thorough understanding of its provisions.

Expressing concern over the toll that road accidents take on families, the Minister noted that the loss of a breadwinner not only devastates a household financially but also jeopardises the future of children. He identified overspeeding, reckless driving, drunk driving, black spots on roads, and vehicles crossing dividers unexpectedly as the primary causes of accidents in the State.

The Minister said that the Golden Hour protocol was being effectively implemented through the 108 ambulance service, with the success rate of saving lives during the critical first hour having improved considerably compared to earlier. He also highlighted the ongoing implementation of the STEMI programme for cardiac emergencies, through which thousands of lives had been saved. He further informed that 14 Critical Care Blocks had been constructed across the State, with work on additional blocks under way.

18,380 Road Accidents Recorded in 2025

Medical and Health Department Principal Secretary Saurabh Gaur revealed that approximately 18,380 road accidents were recorded in the State in 2025, the majority of which occurred on National and State Highways and major roads. Overspeeding was identified as the primary cause, accounting for 79 per cent of all accidents, with wrong-side driving, drunk driving, and mobile phone use also cited as significant contributing factors. The highest number of accidents were recorded between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., he said.

He added that the government was integrating public and private hospitals to ensure emergency medical care during the Golden Hour, and that Trauma Care Centres were being established at every 100-kilometre interval to improve accessibility of medical services.

130 Black Spots Identified in NTR District

NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha said that approximately 130 accident-prone black spots had been identified in the district, with special measures being taken at 27 critical locations. The district administration has set a target of reducing accidents by 50 per cent over the next year. He also spoke of efforts to encourage Good Samaritans — citizens who voluntarily transport accident victims to hospitals — and said that monthly road safety committee meetings were being held to strengthen inter-departmental coordination.

The event was attended by Traffic DCP N. Suryachandraro, Joint Transport Commissioner S. Venkateswara Rao, Director of Medical Education Dr. Raghanandana Rao, and representatives of various hospitals.

అమరావతి ( జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్ ) : ప్రెవేటు ట్రావెల్స్‌ బస్సులను ప్రభుత్వం కట్టడి చేసి, ప్రజల ప్రాణాలకు భద్రత కల్పించే విధంగా ఆర్టీసీ సేవలను దూరప్రాంతాలకు విస్తరించాలని ఆర్టీసీ ఎంప్లాయీస్ యూనియన్ డిమాండ్ చేసింది. భారత్‌లో అత్యంత సురక్షిత ప్రజారవాణా సంస్థగా నిలిచింది ఏపీఎస్‌ఆర్టీసీ ఎంప్లాయీస్ యూనియన్ నాయకులు తెలిపారు.

రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు పలిశెట్టి దామోదరరావు, ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి జి.వి.నరసయ్య శనివారం విడుదల చేసిన ప్రకటనలో మాట్లాడుతూ, మారుతున్న కాలానికి అనుగుణంగా ప్రయాణీకుల అవసరాల మేరకు ఏసీ, స్లీపర్‌ బస్సుల సంఖ్యను పెంచేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం సహకరించాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. అదేవిధంగా దొంగ పర్మిట్లతో ఇతర రాష్ట్రాలలో నమోదైన ప్రెవేటు ట్రావెల్స్‌ బస్సులు విచ్చలవిడిగా తిరుగుతున్నాయన్నారు. వార్షికంగా సుమారు రూ.1500 కోట్ల మేర ఆర్టీసీ ఆదాయానికి గండికొడుతున్న అక్రమ రవాణాపై ప్రభుత్వం కఠిన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని కోరారు.

శుక్రవారం కర్నూలులో జరిగిన ప్రెవేటు ట్రావెల్స్‌ బస్సు ప్రమాదం అత్యంత దుర్ఘటనగా వర్ణిస్తూ, భవిష్యత్‌లో ఇటువంటి సంఘటనలు పునరావృతం కాకుండా చర్యలు తీసుకోవడం అనివార్యమని అన్నారు. తక్కువ జీతాలకు అనుభవం లేని డ్రైవర్లను నియమించడం, వేగ పరిమితులు పాటించకపోవడం, డబుల్ డ్రైవర్‌ లేని వాహనాలను నడపడం వంటి అంశాలు ప్రమాదాలకు దారి తీస్తున్నాయని దామోదరరావు అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. ప్రయాణీకులు వేగం కంటే సురక్షిత ప్రయాణాన్నే ప్రధానంగా తీసుకోవాలని, ప్రజారవాణా వ్యవస్థను బలోపేతం చేయడానికి ఆర్టీసీ బస్సులను ప్రోత్సహించాలని యూనియన్ నాయకులు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.

గుంటూరు (జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్) : గుంటూరు పశ్చిమ నియోజకవర్గంలో రేషన్ పంపిణీ వ్యవస్థ పై ఎమ్మెల్యే శ్రీమతి గళ్ళా మాధవి మంగళవారం నియోజకవర్గ టీడీపీ కార్యాలయంలో తహసీల్దార్, డిప్యూటీ తహసీల్దార్ లతో సమీక్ష సమావేశం నిర్వహించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా రేషన్ సరఫరా, లబ్ధిదారుల వివరాలు, డీలర్ల పనితీరు, నియమ నిబంధనల అమలు వంటి అంశాలపై విస్తృతంగా చర్చ జరిగింది. ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి  మాట్లాడుతూ....గుంటూరు పశ్చిమ నియోజకవర్గంలో మొత్తం 95 రేషన్ షాపులు ఉన్నాయి. ప్రతి షాపు తన పరిధిలో ఉన్న లబ్ధిదారులందరికీ సమయానికి సరుకులు అందించాలి. ఏ ఒక్కరికి అన్యాయం జరగకూడదు. రేషన్ కార్డు ఉన్న ప్రతి ఒక్కరికి వారి హక్కుగా ప్రభుత్వ సరుకులు తప్పక అందాలి, ఇది అధికారుల బాధ్యత, డీలర్ల కర్తవ్యం” అని స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఎవరైనా రేషన్ పంపిణీ నిబంధనలను ఉల్లంఘిస్తే కఠిన చర్యలు తప్పవు. నాకు  ప్రజల నుంచి ఎలాంటి ఫిర్యాదు వచ్చినా, నేను నేరుగా అధికారులను ప్రశ్నిస్తానని ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి హెచ్చరించారు. కొందరు రేషన్ షాపులను వ్యాపార సంస్థల్లా నడుపుతున్నారు. ఇలాంటి ప్రవర్తన అస్సలు సహించం. డీలర్లు సిండికేట్‌లా వ్యవహరించడం కుదరదు. ప్రతి డీలర్ తన పరిధిలో ఉన్న ప్రజలకే సేవ చేయాలి. అవకతవకలకు తావు లేకుండా ఉండాలని స్పష్టం చేశారు. ప్రజల విశ్వాసం ప్రభుత్వం పై నిలబెట్టడం మనందరి బాధ్యత. ఇక నుంచి గుంటూరు పశ్చిమలో రేషన్ పంపిణీ సమస్యలు రాకుండా కఠిన పర్యవేక్షణ ఉండాలి. నవంబర్ నెల నుండి ఒక్క ఫిర్యాదు కూడా రాకూడదని  ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి ఆదేశించారు.

రోడ్డుకు అడ్డముగా ఉన్న విద్యుత్తు స్తంభాలను పక్కకు తొలగించాలి

గుంటూరు పశ్చిమ నియోజకవర్గ పరిధిలో ఉన్న వివిధ డివిజన్ లలో రోడ్డుకు అడ్డంగా ఉన్న విద్యుత్తు స్తంభాలను పక్కకు జరపి ప్రజలకు ఇబ్బందులు లేకుండా ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని గుంటూరు పశ్చిమ నియోజకవర్గ ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి విద్యుత్ శాఖ అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు. మంగళవారం క్యాంపు కార్యాలయంలో సమీక్షా సమావేశం నిర్వహించి డివిజన్ లలో రోడ్డు మధ్యలో ఉన్న విద్యుత్తు స్తంభాల చిత్రాలను అధికారులకి చూపించి వెంటనే వాటిని పక్కకు జరిపి ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని, దీని వలన ప్రజలు, వాహన చోదకులు రాత్రి పూట ప్రమాదాలకు గురవుతున్నారని వెంటనే ఈ పనులు ప్రారంభించాలని ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి ఆదేశించారు.

చాకలికుంటను పరిరక్షిస్తా

గుంటూరు పశ్చిమ నియోజకవర్గ 36వ డివిజన్ లో ఉన్న చాకలికుంట ఆక్రమణలకు గురయ్యిందని, వెంటనే సర్వే జరిపి ఈ కుంటను పరిరక్షించాలని ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి టౌన్ ప్లానింగ్ అధికారి నారాయణ స్వామి నీ ఆదేశించారు. అదే విధంగా కొండయ్య కాలనీలో రోడ్డు విస్తరణ పనులు చేపట్టాలని ఎమ్మెల్యే గళ్ళా మాధవి ఆదేశించారు.

పల్నాడు జిల్లా వినుకొండ మండలం శివాపురం వద్ద జరిగిన రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో ముగ్గురు వ్యక్తులు ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోవడంపై రాష్ట్ర విద్య, ఐటీ శాఖల మంత్రి నారా లోకేష్ తీవ్ర దిగ్భ్రాంతి వ్యక్తం చేశారు. మృతుల ఆత్మలకు శాంతి చేకూరాలని భగవంతుడిని ప్రార్థిస్తున్నానని ఆయన అన్నారు.

గాయపడిన వారికి మెరుగైన వైద్యం అందించేందుకు అన్ని అవసరమైన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని సంబంధిత అధికారులను ఆదేశించినట్లు మంత్రి పేర్కొన్నారు.

బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు ప్రభుత్వం అన్నివిధాలుగా అండగా నిలుస్తుందని హామీ ఇచ్చారు. ప్రమాదంలో ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయిన వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు ప్రగాఢ సానుభూతి తెలిపారు.

Yadadri, December 7 (Journalist File): A tragic accident occurred early this morning in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, when a car lost control and plunged into a pond in the Jalalpur area of Bhudan Pochampally mandal. Five young men lost their lives on the spot in the incident. At the time of the accident, six young men were in the car, and only one of them, identified as Manikanth, managed to escape unscathed.

The deceased were identified by the police as Harsha, Dinesh, Vamsi, Baloo, and Vinay, all residents of Hayathnagar in Hyderabad. Local residents alerted the police, who reached the scene and initiated rescue operations. A case has been registered by the police, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited.
