Earlier in the day, Arjun was arrested and taken to the Chikkadpally police station, where his statement was recorded. He was subsequently transferred to Gandhi Hospital for medical examinations before being presented at the Nampally court, which remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. Following this, he was sent to Chanchalguda Jail under heavy security. However, the High Court later granted him interim relief after hearing a quash petition.

The case stems from a tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4 during the screening of Pushpa-2. The incident claimed the life of a woman, Revathi, and left her son critically injured. Police registered a case against Allu Arjun under Sections BNS 105 and 118, making him one of the accused.

Dramatic Arrest and Court Proceedings

Arjun’s arrest unfolded amidst high drama. After returning from a success meet for Pushpa-2 in Delhi, police arrived at his residence in Hyderabad around noon and detained him in the presence of his family. Expressing displeasure over the police’s actions, Arjun was escorted to Chikkadpally police station, accompanied by his father, Allu Aravind.

At the station, Central Zone DCP Akanksha Yadav oversaw his interrogation, which lasted for two hours. Statements from eyewitnesses were recorded as part of the investigation. Meanwhile, prominent figures, including megastar Chiranjeevi and his wife, visited Arjun's residence to extend their support.

After the interrogation, Arjun was taken to Gandhi Hospital for COVID-19 and other routine medical tests. The scene outside the hospital turned chaotic as fans and onlookers gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the actor. With the medical reports deemed normal, he was subsequently presented at Nampally court.

Security Measures and High-Profile Presence

Heavy security was deployed in and around the court premises, with roads leading to the court sealed off to control the swelling crowds. Inside the court, due to overcrowding, proceedings were shifted to the judge’s chamber. Several film industry representatives and producers of Pushpa-2 were also present to show solidarity.

The High Court’s decision to grant interim bail came as a relief for Arjun, who faced intense scrutiny over the incident. The case continues to draw widespread attention, with questions raised about safety protocols at public events and the accountability of high-profile figures

Hyderabad ( Journalist File ), December 7: 2024 has been a disappointing year for Tollywood fans as several top stars failed to make their anticipated mark at the box office. Despite high expectations, the biggest names in the industry, including Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Power Star Pawan Kalyan, and young star Sai Dharam Tej, missed their usual box-office dominance this year.

With the pan-India trend gaining momentum in recent years, the frequency of star-studded releases from Tollywood has dramatically reduced. While actors once promised multiple films a year, many have now failed to meet even a single release in 2024. The year saw very few big-budget films from the major stars, and for most, it was a silent year.

Chiranjeevi, who had a strong start with rapid releases earlier, has now fallen behind. His last film Bholaa Shankar failed to make an impact, and despite beginning work on Vishwambhar for a 2024 release, the movie has been postponed. As a result, Chiranjeevi didn’t appear on the big screen this year.

Similarly, Sai Dharam Tej, who had earned a reputation with Virupaksha, failed to continue his momentum, with no significant releases in 2024.

Ram Charan, the global star of RRR, was expected to release his much-anticipated Game Changer in December. However, the movie has been postponed until January 2025, leaving his fans waiting for another year.

Balakrishna, too, had high hopes with Daku Maharaj, but the film has now been pushed to Sankranti 2025, missing the expected December release slot.

Even Pawan Kalyan, who had a busy political schedule, was unable to complete his ongoing projects. Although two of his films were nearly ready for release, they were also delayed, as he shifted his focus elsewhere.

Overall, 2024 has been a quiet year for Tollywood's biggest stars, with fans left disappointed by the lack of new releases from their favorite actors.
