VIJAYAWADA, May 12: BJP State spokesperson Sadineni Yamini Sharma on Monday issued a sharp warning to the YSR Congress Party, cautioning that remarks crossing the line of decency against Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Reacting strongly to comments made by YSRCP leader Perni Nani, Ms. Sharma demanded an immediate and unconditional retraction, urging the opposition leader to exercise restraint in his public utterances.

"A party whose leadership spent years governing from behind curtains and staged elaborate sets in place of functional secretariats has no moral authority to level criticism against the Prime Minister," she said, describing such attacks as both ironic and laughable.

Ms. Sharma contended that Mr. Modi had dedicated the past eleven years to tireless public service without drawing upon government funds for personal expenditure, and that YSRCP, with its record in office, was in no position to question his integrity.

Turning her attack on the previous YSRCP dispensation in Andhra Pradesh, she alleged that its leadership had routinely deployed dedicated helicopters even for distances of a kilometre, squandering public money, while simultaneously constructing palatial residences worth hundreds of crores in multiple cities. "Those who built palaces with public money ought to answer for their own conduct before speaking of public service," she said.

The BJP spokesperson further alleged that during the YSRCP government's tenure, citizens were subjected to prolonged hardships, hundreds of trees were felled, and State funds were diverted to paint party offices — transgressions that, she asserted, the people of Andhra Pradesh had not forgotten.

Concluding her remarks, Ms. Sharma said the Prime Minister's life stood as a testament to selfless service, and that it was this quality which had endeared him to the people of the country. She cautioned that YSRCP leaders were making reckless statements without even a basic understanding of the security protocols surrounding the office of the Prime Minister.

AMARAVATI, May 12:The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday strongly condemned former minister and YSRCP leader Perni Nani for making what it described as derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the party's Andhra Pradesh state chief spokesperson Valluru Jayaprakash Narayana demanding an unconditional public apology.

Addressing the media , Jayaprakash Narayana said it was deeply unfortunate that the YSRCP leadership had chosen to respond to the Prime Minister's counsel on financial discipline, savings, and responsible living with personal attacks. "The Prime Minister's advice to citizens on building economic security for the future reflects a national leader's sense of responsibility. Reducing such guidance to political ridicule is both unwarranted and unbecoming," he said.

The BJP spokesperson cited India's rise as the world's fifth largest economy under Modi's leadership, pointing to the digital revolution, transparent governance, infrastructural growth, and enhanced global economic credibility as evidence of the government's track record. "These are not claims — these are realities that every Indian citizen is witnessing firsthand," he added.

Turning his attention to the YSRCP, Jayaprakash Narayana said the party had a consistent pattern of viewing every issue through a narrow political lens. "Perni Nani's remarks reflect political bankruptcy, not responsible engagement with public concerns. This is the hallmark of a party driven by frustration and irrelevance," he said.

The BJP leader made it clear that making disparaging remarks against the office of the Prime Minister was contrary to the norms of democratic culture and called upon Perni Nani to immediately withdraw his comments and exercise greater restraint. He warned that should the apology not be forthcoming, BJP cadres would stage protests outside Perni Nani's residence.

Jayaprakash Narayana also reminded voters that the people of Andhra Pradesh had already delivered a decisive democratic verdict against the YSRCP's "anarchic, destructive and corrupt politics," which he said had caused lasting damage to the state. "The people have spoken clearly. They rejected a political culture that set back Andhra Pradesh's development," he observed.

Concluding his remarks, the BJP spokesperson said that what ultimately matters is not who offers an idea, but how much it benefits the nation. "The politics of cynical criticism has run its course. People today are rallying behind leadership that offers vision, development and national purpose," he said.

Speaking to the media, Suresh said that Prime Minister Modi's recent visit to Telangana had been devoted to launching development schemes worth thousands of crores of rupees, carrying a clear message of inclusive national progress. He noted that the Prime Minister's counsel to citizens on reducing cooking oil consumption, conserving petrol and controlling pollution had struck a chord with the public.

"Sarcasm Politics" Condemned

Suresh accused YSRCP leaders of deliberately sidestepping substantive development discourse in favour of mockery and personal attacks. He specifically took strong exception to the remarks directed at the Prime Minister by Perni Nani, alleging that leaders who had lost public standing were resorting to such statements purely for publicity.

He challenged Jagan Mohan Reddy to hold a press conference and criticise the Prime Minister's policies directly, rather than doing so through proxies. "If you have the conviction, face the media and make your case," he said.

From Chaiwala to National Leader

Suresh drew a pointed contrast between Prime Minister Modi, who he described as a leader who rose from humble origins as a tea seller to understand the struggles of ordinary citizens, and those who entered politics through dynastic privilege. Perni Nani, he said, must immediately retract his remarks and tender an apology or face the consequences of public opinion.

Centre's Largesse to AP Cited

Suresh also highlighted the central government's allocation of lakhs of crores of rupees for the development of Andhra Pradesh and Amaravati, arguing that YSRCP's sarcastic posturing was a disservice to a state that stood to benefit enormously from the BJP-led government at the Centre. He warned that if the party persisted with such an approach, it risked failing to win even 11 seats in the forthcoming elections.

Satyakumar Yadav on Monday hailed the inauguration of two Quantum Reference Facilities in Amaravati as a historic milestone, describing Chief Minister N. Sharp attack on Jagan Reddy

Turning to the political situation in the State, Andhra Pradesh State Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of pursuing a deliberate strategy to obstruct and undermine the progress of Amaravati's development.

The Minister recalled that Mr. Jagan Reddy had himself declared before the Assembly that Amaravati was the State capital, only to subsequently float the contentious three-capital proposal. He said the former Chief Minister's recent advocacy of a "Mavigan" formulation — referencing the cities of Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur — was incoherent and reflected a disturbed political disposition. "Even as the public has rejected these arguments, the former Chief Minister shows no sign of introspection. This is a curse the State has had to endure," Mr. Satyakumar said.

The Minister questioned the relevance of Mr. Jagan Reddy's sudden discovery of the three cities twelve years after the State's formation, calling it farcical. He also took strong exception to the former Chief Minister raising questions about the cost of construction materials for Amaravati, while having spent Rs. 500 crore of public money to build a private residence in Visakhapatnam. "Such conduct is thoroughly unbecoming," he said.

A word of caution for the public

Concluding his statement, Mr. Satyakumar urged the people of the State to remain vigilant and carefully observe the unfolding developments. He called on them to recognise the stark contrast between the Chief Minister's constructive efforts toward the State's development and what he described as the former Chief Minister's relentless campaign of disruption, and to exercise discernment in assessing the two.

Visakhapatnam, April 12: State Health Minister Y. Satyakumar Yadav on Monday announced that the Centre is set to introduce the 'Nari Shakti Vandanam' legislation aimed at ensuring adequate representation for women in legislative bodies, with parliamentary debate on the Bill scheduled for the 17th and 18th of this month.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP district office, presided over by district president M.M.N. Parashurama Raju, the Minister underscored the stark disparity between women's share of the population and their presence in elected bodies. "Women constitute more than half the country's population, yet their representation in legislatures stands at a mere 13 per cent," he said.

Mr. Satyakumar pointed to the success of the 33 per cent reservation for women in local bodies as evidence of their capability and readiness for a larger political role. He also cited schemes such as Jan Dhan accounts, Startup India, and Stand Up India as instruments through which women had achieved greater economic self-reliance in recent years.

Reaffirming the NDA coalition's commitment to substantive rather than rhetorical women's empowerment, the Minister stated that the alliance had set itself the goal of implementing the women's reservation framework from the next elections onward.

Opposition in the crosshairs

Turning to political matters, Mr. Satyakumar trained his criticism on the opposition, expressing surprise that the Congress party, which he said had failed to cross even the 100-seat mark, continued to level charges against the government. He also took strong exception to remarks by YSRCP leaders regarding investments by global firms such as Google and ArcelorMittal in the State, calling their statements unwarranted.

On the Bhogapuram project, the Minister said it was untenable for those who had neglected the initiative for five years to now claim ownership of it.

Commenting on the broader national political landscape, Mr. Satyakumar asserted that a change in governance was needed in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, and added that senior coalition leaders would campaign in areas with a significant Telugu-speaking population wherever elections are under way.

Addressing mediapersons, Madhav said that anyone with grievances against a news organisation's reportage must respond through democratic means rather than resort to violence. Differences of opinion, he said, should be resolved through dialogue and debate, not through intimidation or physical attacks on media establishments. He called on all political actors to uphold the democratic norms that guarantee a free press.

Jagan's Amaravati Somersaults Sow Confusion

Turning his attention to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Madhav said the latter's repeated shifting of positions on the question of Amaravati as the State capital had created considerable confusion among the public. He remarked that Jagan's stance on the capital city had become a source of ongoing controversy, and suggested that YSRCP's own rank and file needed to demand clarity from their leader on the issue before looking elsewhere for answers.

Sakshi Media Slammed for One-Sided Coverage

Madhav also trained his guns on Sakshi Media, alleging that while the outlet freely broadcast content critical of the ruling coalition, it consistently refused to carry rebuttals or responses from alliance party leaders. He called on all media organisations to maintain balance and fairness in their reporting, stating that responsible journalism demanded that all sides of a story be presented to the public.

Jagan Urged to Shed Amaravati Antipathy

Concluding his remarks, Madhav appealed to Jagan Mohan Reddy to shed what he described as an entrenched hostility towards Amaravati and instead extend cooperation towards the State's development. He emphasised that all political parties, regardless of their differences, had a responsibility to work together in the larger interest of Andhra Pradesh and its people.

Amaravati, April 2, 2026: BJP state media panellist and Ahikod constituency election incharge Taduvai Ramakrishna on Wednesday welcomed the Central Government's introduction of a bill in the Lok Sabha to accord statutory recognition to Amaravati as the permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh, describing it as a defining milestone in the state's development trajectory.

In a statement released on the occasion, Mr. Ramakrishna said the TDP-BJP-Janasena coalition government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, was advancing steadily towards its goal of a Vikasit Andhra Pradesh, and that the legislative recognition of Amaravati would serve as a gateway to accelerated growth for the state.

Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, accusing him of political inconsistency and deliberate obstructionism in the wake of the Central Government's introduction of a bill in the Lok Sabha to grant statutory recognition to Amaravati as the official capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at a press conference in Amaravati, Mr. Yadav said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's public claim at his Tadepalli residence that he was not opposed to Amaravati as the capital stood exposed within hours, when YSRCP members staged a walkout in the Lok Sabha during the passage of the bill. "The question and the answer are both Jagan's own," the minister said pointedly, adding that the former Chief Minister's remarks that a future government could pass a contrary resolution had, in fact, revealed the very reason why parliamentary legislation was necessary to ensure permanence.

Gratitude to Centre

Minister Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for expeditiously introducing the bill in Parliament, shortly after the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly had passed a resolution in favour of according statutory status to Amaravati. He also thanked the several political parties that extended support to the legislation in the Lok Sabha.

'Jagan's Duplicity Exposed'

Mr. Yadav alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had displayed a pattern of duplicity from the outset on the capital question. He recalled that the former Chief Minister had, on the floor of the state legislature, himself suggested that Amaravati should be developed across at least 33,000 acres. Yet, once in power, he had pursued a three-capital formula — a move the minister described as a deliberate act of sabotage — while simultaneously diverting thousands of acres of valuable land in Visakhapatnam to benami interests and spending ₹500 crore of public money on a personal residence for his family in the port city. "While Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu sees in Amaravati the dreams of the people, the former Chief Minister sees only imagined corruption where none exists," Mr. Yadav said.

Contrasting Visions

The minister drew a sharp contrast between the two administrations. He noted that in the aftermath of bifurcation in 2014, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had laid the groundwork for a world-class capital at Amaravati to fulfil the aspirations of a people who had lost their capital through the division of the state. The subsequent five-year tenure of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he alleged, had seen deliberate neglect and near-destruction of the capital project, facts that the people of Andhra Pradesh were fully aware of when they voted the YSRCP out of power.

'Answer Questions in the Assembly, Not at Press Meets'

Taking aim at Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to hold a press conference at his Tadepalli residence to raise questions about the Amaravati project, Minister Yadav questioned why the former Chief Minister and his party's 11 legislators were consistently absent from the sessions of the state legislature. "The questions he raises at press conferences would carry far greater weight and democratic legitimacy if raised on the floor of the Assembly, on behalf of the constituents who elected him," he said, adding that press conference rhetoric without legislative participation lacked credibility and commitment.

Rayalaseema's Grievance

Mr. Yadav also turned his attention to what he termed the "unforgivable betrayal" of Rayalaseema under the previous government. He alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised Kurnool the status of a judicial capital, only to scale that down to a mere High Court bench, and had ultimately failed to even formally submit a proposal to that effect. Not a single major project had been established in Rayalaseema during the YSRCP's five-year tenure, he alleged, and crucial irrigation projects in the region had been left to languish through deliberate neglect. In contrast, he said, the present coalition government had drawn up comprehensive plans for the equitable development of all three regions of the state — Andhra, Rayalaseema, and North Andhra — and was actively implementing them.

The minister concluded by asserting that no amount of conspiracy or misinformation from Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would impede the emergence of a grand capital at Amaravati under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's leadership.

ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి విద్యార్థులను ఉద్దేశించి మాట్లాడుతూ, నేను కూడా మీలాగే చిన్న కుటుంబం నుంచి విద్యార్ధి దశలోనే రాజకీయాల్లో ప్రవేశించినట్లు చెప్పారు. మిమ్మల్ని చూస్తుంటే తాను విద్యార్ధి నాయకుడిగా గడిపిన రోజులు గుర్తుకొస్తున్నాయని తెలిపారు. పానుగంటి చైతన్య కూడా మీలాగే విద్యార్ధి రాజకీయాలలో ప్రవేశించి, అవకాశాలను అందిపుచ్చుకుని, ప్రస్తుతం రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడి స్థాయికి చేరుకున్నట్లు చెప్పారు. మీరంతా ఆకాశమే హద్దుగా తన పట్ల చూపిస్తున్న అనంతమైన ఆదరాభిమానాలు చూస్తుంటే నాకు తోడబుట్టిన తమ్ముళ్లు లేని లోటే తెలియడం లేదన్నారు. రక్తం పంచుకుని పుడితే తనకు మహా అయితే ఒక అన్నో.. ఒక తమ్ముడో.. ఉండే వారనీ.. కానీ ఇప్పుడు కులమేదైనా.. మతమేదైనా.. ప్రాంతం ఏదైనా.. మీతో ఏర్పడిన అనుబంధం జన్మజన్మలకూ విడదీయరానిదని స్పష్టం చేశారు.

దివంగత ముఖ్యమంత్రి డాక్టర్ వైయస్ రాజశేఖర రెడ్డి హయాం విద్యార్థులకు స్వర్ణ యుగమని లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి తెలిపారు. ఫీజు రీయంబర్స్‌మెంట్‌ పధకంతో అందరికీ ఉన్నత విద్యను ఉచితంగా అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చిన సంగతిని ఆయన ఈ సందర్భంగా గుర్తు చేశారు. తర్వాత ఆయన తనయుడు వైయస్ జగన్ నాలుగడుగులు ముందుకు వేసి మొత్తం విద్యారంగంలోనే విప్లవాత్మకమైన సంస్కరణలకు శ్రీకారం చుట్టినట్లు చెప్పారు. నాడు - నేడు, ఇంగ్లీషు మీడియంలో విద్య వంటి అనేక కార్యక్రమాలతో సమూలమైన మార్పులు తెచ్చినట్లు వివరించారు. అయితే ప్రస్తుత పాలకులు ఫీజు రీయంబర్స్‌మెంట్‌‌ను పూర్తిగా అటకెక్కించి పేద విద్యార్థులను చదువుకు దూరం చేస్తున్నారని ధ్వజమెత్తారు. విద్యార్ధి వ్యతిరేక విధానాలతో విద్యారంగాన్ని పూర్తిగా నిర్వీర్యం చేశారని నిందించారు. 

తాజాగా వైయస్ జగన్ ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా మన రాష్ట్రానికి సాధించి పెట్టిన వైద్య కళాశాలలను ప్రైవేటీకరించే దుశ్చర్యకు దిగజారారని ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి ధ్వజమెత్తారు. ఈ అన్యాయంపై ప్రధానంగా పాలకులను ప్రశ్నించాల్సిన బాధ్యత విద్యార్ధులపైనే ఉందని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. విద్యార్థులు గళమిప్పితే లోకమే మారిపోతుందని.. ఇక ఈ కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం ఒక లెక్క కాదన్న సత్యాన్ని మరోమారు సమాజానికి చాటి చెప్పాల్సిన సమయం ఇదేనని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు. దానికి తొలి మెట్టుగా మెడికల్ కాలేజీల ప్రైవేటీకరణకు వ్యతిరేకంగా విద్యార్థుల తరుపున రాష్ట్ర వ్యాప్తంగా రాజీ లేని పోరాటానికి సిద్ధమైన మాజీ ముఖ్యమంత్రి వైయస్ జగన్‌కు సంపూర్ణ మద్ధతుగా సమరశీల పోరాటాలకు సిద్ధం కావాలని ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి పిలుపునిచ్చారు.

గుంటూరు (జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్) :  కోటి సంతకాలతో కూటమి కోటలు బీటలు వారడం ఖాయమని శాసనమండలి సభ్యులు, వైయస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ రాష్ట్ర ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి స్పష్టం చేశారు. మెడికల్ కళాశాలల ప్రైవేటీకరణకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పెల్లుబుకుతున్న ప్రజాగ్రహ జ్వాలల్లో ప్రభుత్వం మాడి మసి అవక తప్పదని ఆయన తేల్చి చెప్పారు.

మాజీ ముఖ్యమంత్రి వైయస్ జగన్ పిలుపు మేరకు వైయస్సార్ స్టూడెంట్స్ యూనియన్ రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు పానుగంటి చైతన్య ఆధ్వర్యంలో వైద్య కళాశాలలను ప్రైవేటీకరించే ప్రభుత్వ దుర్మార్గపూరితమైన విధానాలకు నిరసనగా కోటి సంతకాల సేకరణ కార్యక్రమం జరిగింది. ఆదివారం బృందావన్ గార్డెన్స్‌లోని ఎమ్మెల్సీ క్యాంపు కార్యాలయంలో నిర్వహించిన ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి ప్రారంభించారు.

ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ, రాజకీయాల్లో రెండే రెండు రకాలు ఉంటాయని తెలిపారు. ఒకటి నమ్మకమైతే రెండోది నయవంచన అని చెప్పారు. నమ్మకానికి ప్రతిరూపం వైయస్ జగన్ అయితే.. నయవంచనకు నారా చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు బ్రాండ్ అంబాసిడర్ అని పేర్కొన్నారు. కనుకనే వైయస్ జగన్ తన హయాంలో కొత్తగా 17 మెడికల్ కాలేజీలను రాష్ట్రానికి తెచ్చి పెడితే.. అత్త సొమ్ము అల్లుడు దానం చేసినట్లు వాటిని చంద్రబాబు అప్పనంగా ప్రైవేటు వ్యక్తులకు కట్టబెడుతున్నారని ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఫలితంగా ఇటు పేద విద్యార్థులు వైద్య విద్యకు, అటు పేద ప్రజలు వైద్యానికి దూరమవుతారని ఆయన ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

ఆ అనర్ధం జరగకుండా ఉండేందుకే వైయస్ జగన్ ప్రత్యేకమైన కార్యాచరణ రూపొందించి పోరుబాట పట్టినట్లు ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి వెల్లడించారు. అందులో ప్రధాన భాగమైన కోటి సంతకాల సేకరణకు అనూహ్య స్పందన లభిస్తున్నట్లు ఆయన చెప్పారు. దివంగత ముఖ్యమంత్రి డాక్టర్ వైయస్ రాజశేఖరరెడ్డి చెప్పినట్లు, "మన కంట నీరు తుడిచే నిజమైన నాయకుడు ఒక్క వైయస్ జగన్ మాత్రమేనని పేర్కొన్నారు. దీన్ని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని ఆయన పిలుపు మేరకు ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ సంతకాల సేకరణ ఉద్యమంలో సంపూర్ణంగా భాగస్వామ్యం కావాలని ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
