Visakhapatnam, April 20: Andhra Pradesh BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav, accompanied by his family, visited the ancient hill shrine of Sri Sri Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Simhachalam on Monday to offer special prayers on the occasion of the temple's annual Chandanotsavam.

On his arrival at the temple, Madhav was accorded a formal welcome by the temple authorities, who made special arrangements for his darshan.

Performing the special prayers, Mr. Madhav sought the blessings of the presiding deity for the welfare, peace and prosperity of the people of Andhra Pradesh. He expressed the hope that the grace of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy would always remain upon the people, and that every household in the State be blessed with happiness, good health and abundance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Madhav described the Chandanotsavam as a festival that stands as a symbol of devotion and faith. He extended his greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of the Chandanotsavam of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.

A large number of BJP leaders, party workers and devotees were present on the occasion.

శ్రీశైలం (జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్): శ్రీశైల బ్రహ్మరాంబ మల్లికార్జున స్వామివారి దేవస్థానంలో దసరా మహోత్సవాలు ఏకాగ్రతతో, వైభవంగా కొనసాగాయి. మహోత్సవాల ఏడవ రోజు ఆదివారం అమ్మవారికి విశేష పూజలు, జపానుష్ఠానాలు, హోమాలు నిర్వహించబడ్డాయి.

ప్రాతఃకాలం నుంచి అమ్మవారికి ప్రత్యేక కుంకుమార్చనలు, నవావరణార్చనలు, జపానుష్ఠానాలు, సూర్యనమస్కారాలు, చండీహోమం, చతుర్వేద పారాయణాలు నిర్వహించారు. అలాగే రుద్రహోమం, రుద్ర పారాయణాలు, రుద్రయాగాంగ జపాలు జరిపించారు. సాయంత్రం జపములు, నవావరణార్చనలు, కుంకుమార్చనలు, చండీహోమం నిర్వహించబడ్డాయి.

కుమారీపూజ సంప్రదాయం
దసరా ఉత్సవాల్లో భాగంగా ప్రతిరోజూ కుమారీపూజ నిర్వహించారు. రెండేళ్ల నుండి పది సంవత్సరాల వయస్సు గల బాలికలకు పూలు, పండ్లు, వస్త్రాలు సమర్పించి పూజలు చేశారు. నవరాత్రి ఉత్సవాల్లో ఈ కుమారీపూజ ఒక ముఖ్యమైన సంప్రదాయం.

కాళరాత్రి అలంకారం
నవదుర్గాల అలంకారాల్లో భాగంగా అమ్మవారిని కాళరాత్రి స్వరూపంలో భక్తులకు దర్శనమిచ్చేలా తీర్చిదిద్దారు. నల్లటి దేహ ఛాయ, విరియబోసిన జుట్టు, పెడబొబ్బ నవ్వుతో రౌద్రరూపంలో ఉన్నా, శుభ ఫలితాలను ప్రసాదించే దేవతగా కాళరాత్రిని ‘శుభంకరి’ అని పిలుస్తారని పురాణాలు చెబుతున్నాయి. భయాలను పారద్రోలే దేవతగా భక్తులు ఆమెను ఆరాధించారు.

గజవాహనసేవ
ఆదివారం సాయంత్రం శ్రీస్వామి, అమ్మవార్ల ఉత్సవమూర్తులను గజవాహనంపై వేంచేపు చేసి, ప్రత్యేక పూజలు, సేవలు నిర్వహించారు. వాహనసేవను దర్శించేందుకు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో భక్తులు తరలివచ్చి, దసరా ఉత్సవాల వైభవాన్ని ఆస్వాదించారు.
