AMARAVATI, May 6: The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday dismissed 51 doctors serving under the Director of Medical Education (DME) for remaining absent from duty without authorisation, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced, warning that the state would brook no further negligence in public medical institutions.

The dismissed doctors include eight Associate Professors, 41 Assistant Professors, and two Tutors — several of whom had been absent from their posts for periods ranging from one year to as long as six years. The action was taken under Rule 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules (Violation) — 1964, which empowers the government to treat prolonged unauthorised absence as deemed resignation.

"Show-cause notices were issued and adequate time was given to respond. Despite that, there was no response from these individuals," Satya Kumar Yadav said. "Those who are negligent in discharging their duties or who remain absent without authorisation will face strict action. There is absolutely no question of tolerating irresponsibility."

Absent for years, some since 2020

Among the Associate Professors dismissed, one attached to Andhra Medical College had been absent since February 7, 2020 — a period of over five years. Among the Assistant Professors, one had not reported for duty since August 22, 2022. The dismissed doctors belong to government medical colleges spread across the state, including those at Kadapa, Anantapur, Ongole, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Rajamahendravaram, Eluru, Nellore, and Markapur.

Of the two Tutors dismissed, one had been absent for seven years — among the longest periods of unauthorised absence recorded in the exercise.

Charge memos bring eleven back to duty

The crackdown has already produced results in some cases. Eleven doctors who had been absent for under a year returned to duty after the DME issued charge memoranda. However, 33 others — comprising two Associate Professors and 31 Assistant Professors — have yet to report despite receiving notices, and face dismissal if they fail to join within the stipulated deadline.

In the Professor category, three individuals who had been absent for extended periods are expected to face similar punitive action shortly. Of five Professors served notices, two have since returned to duty.

Impact on patient care cited as primary concern

Officials noted that the prolonged absence of faculty from teaching hospitals had a direct and measurable impact on the quality of medical services available to patients. Many of the absentees had reportedly pursued private engagements while remaining on government rolls — a practice that had gone largely unchecked during the previous administration.

Following directions issued by the Minister, DME officials compiled detailed lists of absentees from across all government medical colleges before initiating formal proceedings under the applicable service rules.

The government has simultaneously indicated that vacancies arising from these dismissals will be filled promptly under its Zero Vacancy Policy, ensuring that the affected institutions are not left short-staffed in the interim.

With 33 more doctors yet to report and action pending against three Professors, further dismissals in the coming weeks appear likely.

AMARAVATI, April 16: In a significant policy decision aimed at correcting the imbalance between the supply of nursing graduates and actual demand in the State, Health Minister Sri Satyakumar Yadav on Thursday announced that henceforth only applications received in response to official government notifications would be considered for the establishment of new nursing educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh. Unsolicited or suo motu proposals will no longer be entertained, the Minister made clear.

The announcement was made following an extensive review meeting on nursing education held at the AP Secretariat in Velagapudi, which lasted nearly two hours. The Minister clarified that an exemption to this policy would be extended to proposals pertaining to tribal areas.

Background to the Decision

Officials apprised the Minister at the review that the State currently has 691 nursing educational institutions, which collectively produce approximately 32,000 nursing graduates every year. Despite this, around 6,000 nursing seats have been going unfilled annually for the past several years, pointing to a significant oversupply. Between 2014 and the present, as many as 243 nursing colleges and schools have been sanctioned, all of them on the basis of suo motu proposals submitted by various institutions and approved by successive governments.

In a departure from this practice, the present alliance government last year invited applications from interested organisations for the establishment of nursing institutions in various parts of the State based on assessed need. In response, approximately 345 applications were received and are currently under consideration by a High Power Committee. It was against this backdrop that the Minister announced the new policy decision.

Minister Satyakumar Yadav discussed the finer points of the decision to disallow suo motu proposals with High Power Committee Chairman and retired High Court Judge Sri Upnaka Durga Prasada Rao.

Nurses Must Be Trained to Meet Evolving Demands

The review meeting also deliberated on employment opportunities in the health sector in the context of the State government's target of generating 20 lakh jobs by 2029. The Minister noted that the health sector alone holds the potential for over one lakh employment opportunities, and that appropriate reforms in nursing training could enable large-scale job creation.

Satyakumar Yadav stressed the need to incorporate emerging areas of healthcare into nursing training curricula, particularly geriatric care, child care services, and mental health services, given the rapidly growing demand in these specialisations. State Nursing Council Registrar Smt. Sushila informed the meeting that steps would be taken to launch a Post Graduate Residency Programme in these specialisations in government nursing institutions shortly.

Committee to Review Nursing College Fees

The question of revision of annual tuition fees in nursing institutions also figured prominently in the discussions. Representatives of nursing institutions pointed out that fees were last revised nearly a decade ago in 2017, and that rising inflation since then had made the running of colleges increasingly difficult, necessitating an upward revision. The Minister announced the constitution of a committee under High Power Committee Chairman and retired High Court Judge Sri Durga Prasada Rao to examine the matter scientifically and submit a report, on the basis of which the fee revision would be considered.

The meeting was attended by Health Department Principal Secretary Sri Saurabh Gaur, Director of Medical Education Dr. Raghunandan, State Nursing Council Registrar Smt. Sushila, other senior officials, and representatives of the Nursing Colleges Management Association.

Vijayawada: The NTR University of Health Sciences is set to establish an Artificial Intelligence-based Disease Modelling and Decision Centre on its campus, expand research stipends to a wider pool of medical students, and enhance faculty research grants, Vice Chancellor Dr. Pullala Chandrashekhar announced at a press conference here on Monday.

The decisions, taken at the 244th Governing Body meeting held on March 17 under the chairmanship of Health and Medical Education Secretary Saurabh Gaur, are expected to cost approximately Rs. 22.13 crore annually and will remain in effect for three years, after which they will be reviewed and revised in keeping with the needs of the time.

The Vice Chancellor said the initiatives were in continuation of the steps being taken by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav to raise the standards of medical education in the state, and that the university was aligning its own decisions with that broader direction.

AI Centre with Gates Foundation and Singapore University Partnership

The proposed Disease Modelling and Decision Centre will be established in strategic partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and will use artificial intelligence for early prediction, prevention, and rapid response to disease outbreaks in the state. The university is also set to enter into a formal agreement with the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore, which will provide advisory and technical guidance on the centre's functioning and disease management priorities.

The centre will cost Rs. 5.73 crore in its first year, and approximately Rs. 3.70 crore annually thereafter. Official government orders formalising the arrangement are expected shortly.

Research Stipends Extended and Enhanced

In a significant expansion of its research support programme, the university has decided to provide stipends to at least 1,000 students annually — up from the current 500 — for short-term research projects. The stipend amount has also been revised upward, with each student now receiving Rs. 5,000 per month for six months, amounting to Rs. 30,000, compared to the earlier provision of Rs. 10,000 for two months.

Crucially, the benefit has been extended beyond allopathy to include students enrolled in Ayush, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Sciences and other paramedical courses. Over the three-year period, approximately 3,000 students are expected to undertake short-term research projects under the scheme.

Faculty Research Grants Expanded Fivefold

The university has also substantially widened the scope of faculty research grants. Under the earlier arrangement, 25 faculty members from allopathy and dental streams were eligible for grants of Rs. 2 lakh each annually. Under the revised policy, eligibility has been extended to Ayurveda, Unani, Naturopathy and Homoeopathy faculty as well, taking the number of eligible researchers from 25 to 200. Individual grants will now range between Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh, depending on the significance of the research paper.

Sports Fund and Alumni Engagement

Each government medical college affiliated to the university will receive Rs. 10 lakh annually for the conduct of sports events and development of grounds, with the objective of ensuring the physical and mental well-being of students alongside their academic pursuits.

A separate allocation of Rs. 10 lakh per college for three years has also been earmarked to strengthen alumni engagement. The university will serve as a bridge between colleges and their former students — many of whom hold senior positions across the country and abroad — with a view to channelling their expertise and support towards institutional development.

Round-the-Clock E-Resource Access

Through the NTR Med-Net Medical Online Services Consortium, the university has launched a 24-hour e-resource platform at a cost of Rs. 3 crore, providing students and faculty across allopathy, dental and Ayush colleges with access to journals, videos and other research material. Director of Publications Dr. K. Sudha said the platform would prove particularly valuable to those with an active interest in research.

The press conference was also attended by Registrar Dr. T. Sai Sudhir, Director of Research and Development Dr. M. Lakshmi Suryaprabha and Controller of Examinations Srikanth.

HYDERABAD — Two of Telangana's most prominent government doctors' associations have come out in strong opposition to a state government proposal that would place Group-1 administrative officers in charge of teaching hospitals — warning that the move would undermine the authority of medical superintendents, compromise patient care, and set a dangerous precedent unprecedented anywhere else in India.

The Telangana Government Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) and the Telangana Teaching Government Doctors Association (TTGDA) both issued sharp statements on Saturday, demanding that the government immediately reconsider the proposal and consult recognised medical associations before proceeding further.

"Superintendents Will Become Figureheads"

The TGGDA was unsparing in its criticism of the proposal. In a strongly worded statement, the association warned that placing Group-1 officers in administrative roles within government teaching hospitals would directly erode the powers of existing hospital superintendents — reducing them to mere figureheads with no real authority over the institutions they are supposed to lead.

TGGDA President Narahari and General Secretary Lalu Prasad Rathod argued that there is simply no compelling justification for transferring administrative responsibilities from medically qualified superintendents to Group-1 civil service officers.

"Administrative responsibilities do not need to be handed over to Group-1 officers," the two leaders said in a joint statement. "The current system, where qualified medical professionals oversee hospital administration, works — and there is no reason to dismantle it."

The association also expressed deep displeasure over what it described as a complete lack of consultation with recognised medical bodies before the proposal was floated. That recognised associations were not even approached for their views on a matter of such profound consequence, the statement said, is "condemnable" — a word that reflects the depth of the medical community's frustration.

No Precedent Anywhere in India

The TTGDA went a step further, placing the proposal in its national context — and the picture it painted was damning.

"This practice does not exist in any other state in the country," the association declared flatly. Not one Indian state has handed over the administration of teaching hospitals to Group-1 civil service officers — making Telangana's proposal not just controversial, but entirely without precedent in Indian healthcare administration.

TTGDA President B. Kiran and Secretary Madala Kiran articulated the core argument against the proposal with clarity and force. Running a teaching hospital effectively, they said, requires two distinct and equally important competencies — administrative understanding and medical knowledge. These are not separate skill sets that can be divided between a civil servant and a doctor. They must exist together, in the same person, at the helm of the institution.

"Only doctors can fulfill these responsibilities," the TTGDA leaders said. "A teaching hospital is not a government office. It is a complex medical institution where administrative decisions have direct consequences for patient outcomes, medical education, and the quality of healthcare delivered to the public."

What Is at Stake

To understand why Telangana's doctors are so alarmed, it is important to appreciate what teaching hospitals actually do — and why their administration is fundamentally different from that of other government institutions.

Teaching hospitals serve a dual purpose. They are simultaneously centres of advanced medical care — often the last resort for patients with complex and life-threatening conditions — and institutions of medical education, where the next generation of doctors, nurses, and specialists are trained. The decisions made by hospital superintendents every day involve clinical judgement, resource allocation, staff management, and medical ethics in ways that simply cannot be separated from medical expertise.

Handing that authority to a Group-1 officer — however competent in general administration — would, the associations argue, create a dangerous disconnect between administrative authority and medical reality. The superintendent, stripped of real power, would be unable to respond effectively to the clinical and operational demands of a major teaching hospital. Patients, medical students, and the broader public healthcare system would all suffer the consequences.

A Demand for Dialogue

Both associations have stopped short of issuing an ultimatum — for now. But the message to the Telangana government is clear, consistent, and urgent: this proposal must not move forward without meaningful consultation with the medical community.

The TGGDA has explicitly called on the government to engage with recognised medical associations before taking any further steps. The TTGDA has demanded an immediate reversal of the proposal in its current form.

Neither association has indicated what further action it may take if the government presses ahead without dialogue — but the strength of feeling in Telangana's government medical community suggests that the response would be swift and significant.

Government Yet to Respond

The Telangana state government had not issued a formal response to the associations' statements at the time of publication. The Health Ministry was not immediately available for comment.

What is clear, however, is that the proposal has touched a raw nerve in a medical community that already bears enormous pressure — managing some of the state's most critical healthcare institutions with limited resources and growing patient loads.

For Telangana's government doctors, this is not merely an administrative dispute. It is a question of professional identity, institutional integrity, and ultimately, the quality of healthcare that the state's most vulnerable citizens receive.

And on that question, they are not prepared to stay silent.

The Telangana government had not responded to the associations' statements at the time of publication. This report will be updated as further developments emerge.

ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ, అవనిలోని దేవతలు - వైద్యులు! ఆధునిక దేవాలయాలు - వైద్య కళాశాలలు‌‌!! అందుకే ప్రజలకు కనిపించే ప్రత్యక్ష దేవుళ్ళైన వైద్యులను ప్రభుత్వ రంగం ద్వారా పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో తయారు చేసి తద్వారా ప్రజారోగ్యాన్ని పరిరక్షించాలన్న సంకల్పంతో మాజీ ముఖ్యమంత్రి  వైయస్ జగన్ 8,500 కోట్ల రూపాయల వ్యయంతో రాష్ట్రంలో కొత్తగా 17 మెడికల్ కాలేజీలను ఏర్పాటు చేసినట్లు శాసనమండలి సభ్యులు, వైయస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ రాష్ట్ర ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి వెల్లడించారు. తద్వారా ఈ ప్రభుత్వ మెడికల్ కళాశాలల ద్వారా పేద విద్యార్థులను సైతం ప్రాణం పోసే వైద్యులుగా తీర్చిదిద్దాలని ఆయన తలపోశారు. మరోవైపు వైద్య కళాశాలలకు అనుబంధంగా ఏర్పడే బోధనాసుపత్రుల వలన లక్షలాది మంది పేద వర్గాల ప్రజలకు ఉచితంగా వైద్యం అందుతుందని ఆయన వివరించారు. అయితే.. పేద విద్యార్ధులు కనీసం ఇంగ్లీష్ మీడియంలో చదవడమే పాపంగా భావించే పెత్తందారీ పోకడలు గల ప్రస్తుత ముఖ్యమంత్రి నారా చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు - పేదలు డాక్టర్లు కావడాన్ని తట్టుకోగలరా...? పేదలకు కార్పొరేట్ స్థాయి వైద్యం ఉచితంగా పొందుతుంటే భరించగలరా..‌? అని ఆయన ప్రశ్నించారు. ఎంత మాత్రం తట్టుకోలేరు కనుకనే తాను అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన వెంటనే ప్రభుత్వ మెడికల్ కాలేజీలను ప్రైవేటు పరం చేసే పన్నాగం పన్నారని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు.

ప్రభుత్వ ప్రైవేటీకరణ విధానాలకు నిరసనగా వైసీపీ అధినేత జగన్ నవంబరు 22 వరకు కార్యాచరణ నిర్దేశించినట్లు ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి వెల్లడించారు. దాని ప్రకారం గ్రామ, వార్డు స్థాయిల్లో రచ్చబండ పెట్టి అన్నింటిపై ప్రజల్లో ప్రచారం నిర్వహించనున్నట్లు చెప్పారు. అక్టోబరు 28వ తేదీన నియోజకవర్గ కేంద్రాల్లో ర్యాలీలు
నవంబరు 12న అన్ని జిల్లా కేంద్రాల్లో ర్యాలీలు నిర్వహించి, ప్రతి గ్రామం నుంచి 500 సంతకాల చొప్పున ప్రతి నియోజకవర్గంలో 50 వేలకు తగ్గకుండా, రాష్ట్ర వ్యాప్తంగా మొత్తం కోటి సంతకాలు సేకరించి ఆ ప్రతులను రాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్‌కు సమర్పించడం జరుగుతుందని ఆయన వివరించారు. పేద ప్రజలకు శాపంగా మారిన ప్రైవేటీకరణ విధానాలకు వ్యతిరేకంగా చేపట్టిన ఈ సంతకాల సేకరణ ఉద్యమంలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ భాగస్వాములై ప్రభుత్వం పట్ల తమ వ్యతిరేకతని ఎలుగెత్తి చాటాలని ఎమ్మెల్సీ లేళ్ళ అప్పిరెడ్డి పిలుపునిచ్చారు.

•    ఆయుష్ డిపార్ట్మెంట్ కు కేంద్ర,  రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలు పెద్ద పీట

విజయవాడ ( జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్ ) :భారతీయ సంస్కృతీ సంప్రదాయాలకు ప్రతీకైన ఆయుష్ శాఖ ను పటిష్ట పరచేందుకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు తీసుకుంటుందని వైద్య ఆరోగ్య, కుటుంబ సంక్షేమం  శాఖ మంత్రి సత్య కుమార్ యాదవ్ తెలిపారు..శుక్రవారం స్ధానిక డాక్టర్ ఎన్టీఆర్ హెల్త్ యూనివర్సిటీ ప్రాంగణంలో ఆయుష్ శాఖకు చెందిన పీజీ విద్యార్థులు, హౌస్ సర్జన్స్ స్టైఫండ్స్ పెంచినందుకు మంత్రి సత్య కుమార్ యాదవ్ కు ఆత్మీయ సత్కారం చేశారు.. ఈ సందర్భంగా మంత్రి సత్య కుమార్ యాదవ్ మాట్లాడుతూ దేశానికే ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రం ఆయుష్ శాఖను ఆదర్శంగా ఉంచేలా అభివృద్ధి చేస్తున్నామన్నారు. విద్యార్ధుల పరిస్థితిని అర్ధం చేసుకుని రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం స్టైఫండ్ ను పెంచిందన్నారు. 2025-26 సంవత్సరానికి రాష్ట్ర ఆయుష్ శాఖ అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాల కోసం కేంద్రం రూ. 166 కోట్లు మంజూరు చేసిందన్నారు.. దర్మవరం, కాకినాడలో కొత్తగా ఆయుర్వేద కళాశాలలు మంజూరు చేశామన్నారు.. 

గత ప్రభుత్వం ఆయుష్ శాఖను పట్టించుకోకుండా నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసిందన్నారు. కేంద్రానికి పంపించాల్సిన నివేదికలను పంపక పోవడం వల్ల మూడు సంవత్సరాల్లో ఒక్క రూపాయి కూడా ఆయుష్ శాఖకు కేటాయింపు జరగలేదన్నారు.  ఎంతో ప్రాచీనమైన మన భారతీయ ఆయుష్, యునాని తదితర వైద్య విధానాలను సంరక్షించుకునేందుకు చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నామన్నారు.. భావితరాలకు దీని విశిష్టతను తెలియపరిచే విధంగా కొన్ని నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకోవడం జరిగిందన్నారు.. కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం కూడా దీనికి సంపూర్ణ సహకారం అందిస్తుందన్నారు.. ఆయుష్ ప్రాధాన్యతను ప్రధాన మంత్రి శ్రీ నరేంద్ర మోదీ గుర్తించి దీనికి ఒక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖను ఏర్పాటు చేయడం జరిగిందని అన్నారు. ఆయుష్ లో భాగమైన యోగా, ప్రాణా యామం వంటి వాటికి ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రాచుర్యం  కల్పించారన్నారు.. 

రాష్ట్రంలో కొత్తగా ఆయుష్ శాఖకు చెందిన ఐదు ఆస్పత్రులను, మూడు కాలేజీలను ఏర్పాటు చేయబోతున్నామన్నారు.. ఆయుష్ వ్యవస్థని మరింత పటిష్టపరిచే విధంగా బోధనా సిబ్బంది, బోధనేతర సిబ్బంది మొత్తం కలిపి 500 పోస్టుల నియామకాలు చేపట్టబోతున్నామన్నారు. విజయవాడ ఆయుర్వేద కళాశాలకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం 3 కోట్ల రూపాయల నిధులు మంజూరు చేసిందన్నారు. ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ ఆయుర్వేద కళాశాలలు  విశాఖపట్నం, కాకినాడ లలో  మంజూరు చేయడం జరిగిందన్నారు.. గత ప్రభుత్వం పూర్తి గా ఆయుష్ శాఖను నిర్వీర్యం చేసిందన్నారు.. కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం వచ్చిన సంవత్సరంలోనే మొదటి ఏడాది రూ. 83 కోట్లు, రెండో ఏడాది 166 కోట్లు మంజూరు చేశారన్నారు. గతంలో 2018 లో సెంట్రల్ రీసెర్చ్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూషన్ ఫర్  యోగా అండ్ నేచురోపతికి భూమిని కేటాయించగా, గత ప్రభుత్వం ఆ స్థలాన్ని వేరే యాక్టివిటీస్ కి ఇచ్చారని, అది కూడా నెరవేరలేదన్నారు. అంత ప్రతిష్టాత్మకమైన సంస్థను గత ప్రభుత్వం రాష్ట్రానికి రానివ్వకుండా చేసిందన్నారు.. కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం వచ్చిన తర్వాత ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు అమరావతి ప్రాంతమైన ప్రత్తిపాడులో ఆ సంస్ధకు భూమిని కేటాయించి, రాబోయే 2 సంవత్సర కాలంలో నిర్మాణం పూర్తి చేసి  అందుబాటులో తీసుకొచ్చే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నామన్నారు. దీనివల్ల ఆయుష్ లో అత్యాధునిక సాంకేతికతను అందుబాటులోకి వచ్చి అధునాతనమైన పరిశోధనలు చేయడానికి విద్యార్థులకు ఎంతో  ప్రయోజనకరంగా ఉంటుందన్నారు. 

ఆయుష్ శాఖ డైరెక్టర్ దినేష్ కుమార్ మాట్లాడుతూ రాష్ట్రంలో పీజీ విద్యార్ధుల స్టైఫండ్ ను పెంచి రికార్డు సృష్టించారన్నారు. గతంతో పోల్చుకుంటే ఆయుష్ శాఖలో ఎన్నో సంస్కరణలు తీసుకొచ్చామన్నారు. వైద్య విద్యార్ధులు ప్రభుత్వం ఇస్తున్న ప్రోత్సాహాకాన్ని అందిపుచ్చుకుని మందడుగు వేయాలన్నారు. కార్యక్రమంలో ఎన్టీఆర్ హెల్త్ వర్సిటీ వీసీ డాక్టర్ చంద్రశేఖర్, రిజిస్ట్రార్ డాక్టర్ రాధికారెడ్డి, ఆయుష్ డిపార్ట్మెంట్ అడిషనల్ డైరెక్టర్ పి. సాయి సుధాకర్, డాక్టర్ నోరి రామ శాస్త్రి ప్రభుత్వ ఆయుర్వేద కళాశాల ప్రిన్సిపాల్ కె. నిర్మలా జ్యోతి బాయ్, ఆయుర్వేద కళాశాల కు చెందిన పీజీ, హౌస్ సర్జన్స్ పాల్గొన్నారు..

అమరావతి( జర్నలిస్ట్ ఫైల్ ):  ప్రాథమిక ఆరోగ్య కేంద్రాల్లో (పీహెచ్సీలు) పనిచేసే వైద్యులు పీజీ ఇన్-సర్వీస్ కోటా సంబంధిత సమస్యలపై ఆందోళనలు చేస్తున్న నేపథ్యంలో, రాష్ట్ర వైద్య ఆరోగ్య శాఖ చర్యలకు దిగింది. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం బోధనాసుపత్రులు, సామాజిక, ప్రాంతీయ, జిల్లా ఆసుపత్రుల్లో పనిచేస్తున్న ఎంబీబీఎస్ వైద్యులను పీహెచ్సీలకు పంపేలా ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేసింది.

సోమవారం రాత్రి విడుదలైన ఆదేశాల ప్రకారం, బోధనాసుపత్రుల్లో ఉన్న 1,014 మంది పీజీ విద్యార్థులు, సీనియర్ రెసిడెంట్లు, ఎంబీబీఎస్ ట్యూటర్లు, అలాగే సామాజిక, ప్రాంతీయ, జిల్లా ఆసుపత్రుల్లో పనిచేస్తున్న 1,017 మంది ఎంబీబీఎస్ వైద్యులను మాప్ చేసి, మంగళవారం నుంచి విధుల్లో నియమిస్తారు. ఈ చర్య ద్వారా రోగులకు యథావిధిగా సేవలు అందుతాయని ప్రభుత్వం తెలిపింది.

సహేతుకం లేదు
పీహెచ్సీ వైద్యుల ఆందోళనలు సమంజసం కాదని కమిషనర్ వీరపాండియన్, ఆరోగ్య, కుటుంబ సంక్షేమ శాఖ అధికారులు స్పష్టం చేశారు. భవిష్యత్తులో వచ్చే ఖాళీలను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని, ప్రభుత్వం ఇన్-సర్వీస్ కోటా సీట్లను కేటాయించింది. ఇటీవల విడుదల చేసిన జీఎో ప్రకారం 15% క్లినికల్ (7 స్పెషాల్టీలు), 30% నాన్-క్లినికల్ సీట్లు కేటాయించబడ్డాయి. రాబోయే మూడు సంవత్సరాల్లో సుమారు వెయ్యి మంది ఇన్-సర్వీస్ పీజీలు విధుల్లో చేరనున్నారు.

సెలవులు లేవు
పీహెచ్సీల్లో పనిచేసే ఇతర సిబ్బంది సెలవులు వదిలి, అన్ని హెల్త్ అండ్ వెల్నెస్ కేంద్రాల్లోనే ఉండాలని వైద్య ఆరోగ్య శాఖ ఆదేశించింది. అత్యవసర పరిస్థితుల్లో మరింత అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండి, స్థానిక పరిస్థితులను ఉన్నతాధికారులకు తెలియజేయాలని సూచించింది. 108 అంబులెన్స్ సిబ్బంది స్థానిక ఆసుపత్రులతో సమన్వయం చేసుకోవాలని పేర్కొంది.
