Keralam: Bhubaneswar Member of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi on Monday conducted an extensive campaign in the Kongad assembly constituency in Kerala in support of BJP candidate Dr. Renu Suresh, urging voters to back the party that she said was committed to taking the region forward on the path of development. The campaign drew a strong turnout of party leaders, workers, and local residents.

Enthusiastic Public Response

Speaking on the occasion, BJP Kongad assembly election in-charge Dr. Kilaru Dilip said the campaign event featuring Aparajita Sarangi had evoked a tremendous response from the public. He appealed to voters to elect Dr. Renu Suresh in the interest of Kongad's development, expressing confidence that the constituency was ready to embrace change.

Viksit Kongad the Goal

Dr. Dilip said the NDA was moving forward with a clear agenda of development and transparent governance for Kerala, and that bringing Kongad into the mainstream of progress was central to the alliance's vision for the constituency. He appealed to the people to support the NDA candidate in keeping with the goal of a Viksit Kongad, echoing the broader national vision articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Star Campaigner Energises Ground Workers

The presence of Aparajita Sarangi, a prominent national figure within the BJP, lent fresh energy to the party's campaign in Kongad. Party functionaries said the MP's participation had galvanised workers at the booth level and strengthened the resolve of the alliance's ground organisation ahead of polling day.

Tamil Nadu: Leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, AIADMK, AMMK, and PMK came together on Tuesday for a major joint meeting in the Tirupattur assembly constituency in support of BJP candidate KC Thirumaran, signalling a united front as the campaign enters its final stretch. Workers drawn from various mandals across the constituency participated in the gathering and deliberated on poll strategy.

Alliance Unity the Cornerstone

Addressing the meeting, BJP Tirupattur assembly election in-charge Kokkera Srinivas Yadav said the solidarity among alliance partners was the most decisive factor in the party's favour. He noted that public support for KC Thirumaran was visibly growing, and expressed firm confidence that the BJP-led alliance would secure a decisive majority in the constituency.

Development and Clean Governance on the Agenda

Srinivas Yadav said the alliance parties were united in their commitment to delivering development and transparent governance to the people. He urged workers at the grassroots level to coordinate their efforts and ensure that every voter in the constituency was reached before polling day.

Ground Push in Final Lap

Leaders at the meeting resolved to intensify the campaign with renewed vigour in the days remaining. Srinivas Yadav reaffirmed that with the combined strength of the alliance, a BJP victory in Tirupattur was well within reach, calling on cadres to redouble their outreach across every village and ward.

Vijayawada, April 2: The Andhra Pradesh NGGO Association has described the passage of the Bill in Parliament granting statutory recognition to Amaravati as the permanent capital of the State as a moment of pride for all Telugu people.

Addressing a press conference at the NGGO Home in Gandhinagar here on Thursday, association president A. Vidyasagar said the approval of the Bill by both Houses of Parliament marked a significant step in providing stability and direction to the State, which had been without a clearly established capital after bifurcation.

He expressed gratitude, on behalf of government employees, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Cabinet members, and national-level leaders who supported the move to accord legal status to Amaravati.

Welcoming the State government’s decision to clear pending dues, Mr. Vidyasagar said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s approval for releasing over ₹7,000 crore towards employee-related arrears was a positive and reassuring step. He noted that while dues were being cleared in phases, employees expected an accelerated pace of disbursement.

According to him, the government had recently approved the release of ₹7,059 crore towards pending payments to serving and retired employees. The amount includes ₹1,847.83 crore under General Provident Fund (GPF), ₹3,411.03 crore towards gratuity arrears, ₹1,800 crore for leave encashment of retired employees, and ₹223.47 crore towards additional surrendered leave payments for police personnel.

He added that payments amounting to ₹1,847.83 crore under GPF and ₹76 crore each under Group Insurance and GLI had already been cleared.

Mr. Vidyasagar said the government’s responsiveness to employee concerns and its willingness to address pending financial issues were commendable. He attributed the progress to sustained efforts by the AP NGGO Association and the positive approach of the State government.

He reiterated that the association would continue to work for the protection of employees’ rights and welfare.

Later, leaders of various employee unions met the Chief Minister and conveyed their appreciation for the passage of the Amaravati Bill and the decision to release arrears. They also urged the government to take steps on the appointment of a PRC committee and expedite settlement of pending bills, including those related to surrendered leave.

Amaravati, April 2, 2026: BJP state media panellist and Ahikod constituency election incharge Taduvai Ramakrishna on Wednesday welcomed the Central Government's introduction of a bill in the Lok Sabha to accord statutory recognition to Amaravati as the permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh, describing it as a defining milestone in the state's development trajectory.

In a statement released on the occasion, Mr. Ramakrishna said the TDP-BJP-Janasena coalition government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, was advancing steadily towards its goal of a Vikasit Andhra Pradesh, and that the legislative recognition of Amaravati would serve as a gateway to accelerated growth for the state.

Modi's Role Underscored

Mr. Ramakrishna credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for bringing focused Central attention to Andhra Pradesh's development needs — through attracting investments to the state and according priority to Andhra Pradesh in successive Union Budgets. He also noted that Minister Nara Lokesh's ongoing initiatives were contributing meaningfully to the state's economic progress. "The people of Andhra Pradesh repose deep trust in Prime Minister Modi, and that trust is being reciprocated through concrete action," he said.

Amaravati as an Economic Catalyst

Elaborating on the significance of the capital bill, Mr. Ramakrishna argued that the development of Amaravati would act as a catalyst for industrial investment, job creation, and comprehensive economic growth across the state. A legally secured and actively developed capital city, he said, would send a strong signal to domestic and international investors about Andhra Pradesh's stability and long-term potential.

Mr. Ramakrishna trained sharp criticism on the previous YSRCP administration, alleging that it had pursued authoritarian tendencies and had deliberately obstructed the state's development during its five-year tenure. He said the people of Andhra Pradesh had recognised and decisively rejected those policies at the ballot box.

Going a step further, he called upon YSRCP leaders who genuinely wished for Andhra Pradesh's development to immediately leave the party, asserting that a growing perception had taken hold among the public that the party's leadership was working against the state's interests rather than for them.
