Don’t Fall for Fake Propaganda During War Crisis: PM Modi
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday cautioned citizens against believing misinformation during times of global crisis, emphasizing unity and responsible awareness as conflicts continue to impact the world.
Speaking in the 132nd edition of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister said that ongoing conflicts in West Asia over the past month have created significant challenges worldwide. He noted that the global situation remains fragile, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had already strained economies and societies.
Referring to the tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, Modi highlighted the broader impact of such conflicts, particularly on global energy supplies. He pointed out that instability in key oil-producing regions has led to concerns over petrol and diesel availability across countries.
The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to governments in Gulf nations for extending support to Indian expatriates residing in the region during this uncertain period.
Calling for national unity, Modi urged people not to be misled by false propaganda being spread for political gains. He stressed that such sensitive situations should not be politicized, as they concern the welfare of 1.4 billion citizens.
“This is a time for unity and responsibility. People should remain alert and rely only on official information released by the government,” he said.
Modi further warned against those attempting to exploit the crisis for selfish political interests and appealed to citizens to reject misinformation and act with caution.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come at a time when global geopolitical tensions continue to evolve, affecting economies, energy markets, and international relations.
