'Live and Let Live': BJP NTR District Marks Mahavir Jayanti with Solemn Fervour

VIJAYAWADA, March 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party's NTR District unit observed the 2625th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir here on Tuesday with a special programme held at the party's district office, drawing members of the Jain community, party functionaries, and minority morcha representatives in significant numbers.

The event was organised under the directions of BJP State Minority Morcha President Syed Basha, and conducted under the convenorship of NTR District Minority Morcha President Meera Vali.

BJP NTR District President Adduri Sriram attended as the chief guest, offering floral tributes at the portrait of Bhagwan Mahavir. The programme was coordinated by BJP Governorpet Mandal President Praveen Jain Ranka.

Several prominent members of the Jain community addressed the gathering, elaborating on the enduring relevance of Mahavir's teachings. Speakers underscored that his foundational principle of "Live and Let Live" remains an ideal compass for nurturing peace, harmony, and brotherhood in contemporary society. Mahavir's philosophy of non-violence, love, and compassion was recalled at length during the proceedings.

Addressing the gathering, Adduri Sriram called upon every individual to rededicate themselves to the service of society by treading the path of non-violence — the central tenet of Mahavir's message.

Among the Jain community members who participated were Pannalal Jain, Ashok Kumar Bhermal, Ashok Jain, Naresh Jain, and Subhash Salecha, along with other community representatives.

The programme also saw the participation of BJP State Secretary Boddu Nagalakshmi, Minority Morcha State Vice President Sharmila Khatoon, District General Secretary Kollapalli Ganesh, Secretaries Paila Suresh, Pole Shanti, and Krishnamohan, District OBC Morcha President Subrahmanyeswara, District Yuva Morcha President Siva Krishna Reddy, District Mahila Morcha President Padmaja, Commerce Division Convener Pacchipulusu Siva Prasad, District Minority Morcha General Secretary Imtiaz, Social Media Convener Qasim, and Morcha executive member Gaffar, among a large number of party workers and leaders.

The event was seen as a reflection of the party's commitment to celebrating the spiritual and cultural heritage of all communities under its outreach initiatives.
