Guntur, April 11: The Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association (APGDA) unveiled its official website — apgda.com — on Saturday at a function held in the Sushruta Hall of the Government General Hospital, Guntur, marking a significant step in the organisation's efforts to modernise its outreach and member services.
Addressing the gathering, APGDA State President Dr. Jayadheer and State General Secretary Dr. Ramesh noted that this was the first time in the association's history that a dedicated website had been developed. The platform, they said, would serve as a centralised resource for members, providing updates on government orders, details of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes, and a forum for discussing issues pertaining to the medical fraternity.
The website, developed to international standards, will also host information related to the service matters of government doctors, the office-bearers said, urging all eligible physicians to enrol as members of the association. Dr. Sujnan, Assistant Professor at Guntur Government Hospital, had the distinction of being the first to register as a new member on the platform.
On the occasion, several key appointments were announced. Dr. P. Ramu, Vice Principal, Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatrics at Srikakulam Government Medical College, was named Chairman of the newly constituted IT Wing. Dr. Muneer Kanha, Associate Professor of Pharmacology from Nellore, Dr. Valmiki, Professor of Social and Preventive Medicine, and Dr. Mani Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, were appointed as Academic Chairpersons.
The association expressed its gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the event, which was attended by a large number of APGDA members from across the state.
