CHENNAI, Sept. 28, 2026 (Journalist File): More than 100,000 visitors attended Aarush 2026, the four-day techno-management festival hosted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology, as students and researchers showcased emerging ideas in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and management.
Held from Sept. 24 to 27 under the theme “Towards Infinity,” the 20th edition brought together 12,974 students from 148 colleges across India, along with 107 international delegates. The festival concluded Sunday evening with the presentation of awards to students who excelled in various competitions and exhibitions.
The event featured projects and demonstrations spanning robotics, drones, autonomous systems, defence technology, immersive technology, intelligent mobility and artificial intelligence. A technology showcase emerged as one of the major attractions, featuring live first-person-view drone demonstrations as well as displays focused on aviation and exploration technologies.
Defence technology was another prominent component of the festival. Exhibits presented under the aegis of the Defence Research and Development Organisation included a BMP-2 tank and interactive robotics, offering visitors an opportunity to see technologies associated with modern defence and automation.
SRMIST student teams also used the festival to demonstrate their engineering and problem-solving capabilities. Projects developed by Team Rudra and Team Envision, including custom drones, FPV systems, rockets, robotics and immersive-technology applications, drew attention. Events such as Quadcopter and RoboLeague provided students with opportunities to demonstrate technical skills, creative thinking and practical problem-solving.
Several projects focused on the next generation of mobility and automation. Autonomous mobile robots, self-balancing electric mobility platforms and an Internet of Things-based Cabby robot illustrated possible applications of intelligent systems in transportation, automation and education.
The participation of experts, industry representatives, speakers and guests from India and abroad added an international dimension to the festival. Organisers positioned Aarush ’26 as a platform connecting young innovators with the wider technology ecosystem and providing students with opportunities to take their ideas beyond the classroom.
With its 20th edition, Aarush ’26 continued to bring together students, researchers, industry and technology enthusiasts around emerging technologies and innovation, highlighting the growing role of young talent in shaping India’s technology landscape.
