VIJAYAWADA, SEPTEMBER 3: The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (APJAC) has intensified its efforts to hold talks with the State government on the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), announcement of interim relief (IR), pending dearness allowance (DA) instalments and other financial dues of government employees.
APJAC chairman Alaparti Vidyasagar has been taking up the employees’ issues with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Finance Minister and senior officials over the past week, APJAC sources said. The concerns and grievances of employees were explained to the Chief Minister in detail, and he is said to have responded positively.
The APJAC said it had received information from government sources that there could be an opportunity for talks with employee associations in the presence of the Chief Minister before September 5. The employee body is hopeful of receiving a formal invitation from the government.
Meanwhile, the APJAC State committee has been mobilising employees across Andhra Pradesh for the agitation programme announced for September 5. The programme is aimed at pressing for action on the 12th PRC, pending DA payments, financial arrears and other issues relating to employee welfare.
The committee said it would continue its efforts to resolve the issues through negotiations with the government while simultaneously preparing employees for the proposed agitation. It urged the government to respond positively to the demands and address the pending issues through discussions.
The APJAC said that if the government failed to resolve the issues through talks, employees would proceed with the agitation programme already announced.
