VIJAYAWADA, Sept. 9, 2026: Andhra Pradesh BJP chief PVN Madhav thanked Minister Nara Lokesh for announcing free electricity supply to Ganesh Chaturthi mandaps across the state. He said the decision would bring happiness to Hindu devotees and reflected the government’s responsiveness to public sentiments and demands.
Madhav said BJP leaders across Andhra Pradesh had submitted petitions to district collectors on Monday as part of the party’s “Janata Varadhi” programme, through which public grievances are brought to the government’s attention every Monday. One of the requests was to provide free electricity to temporary Ganesh festival mandaps.
He welcomed the government’s immediate response to the BJP’s representation and described the decision to provide free power as a commendable step. Madhav said the move demonstrated the government’s willingness to respond promptly to the faith, expectations and concerns of the people.
The BJP state chief once again expressed his gratitude to Lokesh for responding to the request and taking a decision on free electricity for Ganesh Chaturthi mandaps.
