P. GANNAVARAM, Sept. 9, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the coalition government was pursuing welfare, development and good governance as its central priorities, with a particular focus on protecting land rights and improving public services. Speaking at the “Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku” gram sabha at Panduvaripeta in P. Gannavaram constituency, he said effective governance meant reaching people in their villages rather than remaining confined to the Secretariat.
Naidu said he regularly travelled across the state to interact with people and understand their problems. He referred to the monthly NTR Bharosa pension programme, under which pensions are distributed on the first day of every month, as well as the Swarnandhra–Swachhandhra programme. He said the P4 initiative was also being used to encourage social responsibility and improve living standards. Economic development and wealth creation, he said, were necessary to ensure people could live with dignity.
On land administration, Naidu said the government was issuing pattadar passbooks with the state seal as part of the monthly “Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku” programme. He alleged that the previous administration had tampered with revenue records and created uncertainty over land ownership. The coalition government, he said, repealed the Land Titling Act soon after coming to power and was now working to restore confidence in the land-record system.
The chief minister said the state had completed resurvey operations in 8,234 villages and distributed 36 lakh secured pattadar passbooks. The target is to complete resurvey in 8,582 villages and distribute 56 lakh passbooks by March next year, he said. The new passbooks incorporate security features including e-KYC, QR codes and blockchain technology, while automatic mutation has been introduced following registration of land transactions.
Naidu said the government had also removed 16 lakh acres from the 22-A prohibited list after correcting records and had resolved 244 long-pending land disputes in several parts of the state. He said restrictions on certain lands dating back to the British era were also being addressed, including cases involving 56.37 acres that could benefit 1,410 people.
The chief minister said water security was another major priority and noted that more than 1,000 TMC of Godavari water had flowed into the sea this year. He attributed delays in the Polavaram project to decisions taken by the previous government and said the coalition administration was working with the Centre to accelerate major development projects.
Naidu said the government was regularly consulting MLAs and district collectors to improve delivery of public services. He alleged that opposition forces were attempting to obstruct development, but said the coalition government would remain focused on welfare, infrastructure and better governance. Earlier, he unveiled the foundation stone for Rs. 240-crore grid modernisation works by EPDCL aimed at improving three-phase power supply.
