HYDERABAD, September 20, 2026: A group of Congress leaders on Sunday visited the Aziznagar area of Rangareddy district as part of a field-level inspection of land parcels allegedly linked to leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
The inspection was led by Congress MPs Mallu Ravi and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, who said the exercise was intended to bring details of the properties before the public and examine allegations surrounding the acquisition and use of assigned lands.
The Congress representatives visited the area around former minister T. Harish Rao's farmhouse. Mallu Ravi said the delegation did not enter the farmhouse and had come to inspect the surrounding land and make the facts known to the public.
Ravi alleged that assigned lands had been taken from poor families and subsequently used for farmhouses. He called for such lands to be recovered by the government and redistributed to eligible poor beneficiaries.
Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that rules under Government Order No. 111 had been violated in the construction of farmhouses. He also questioned how properties that, according to him, were not reflected in election affidavits in 2004 had subsequently come to be associated with political leaders.
The Congress MP said the field visits were aimed at documenting what the party described as alleged irregularities during the previous BRS government and said details of more than 450 acres should be made available to the people of Telangana.
Congress questions property disclosures
Kiran Kumar Reddy raised questions over the property disclosures of members of the former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's family and demanded explanations regarding the acquisition of various properties.
He alleged that a farmhouse associated with Harish Rao had been acquired in Survey No. 76 and questioned the source of funds used for purchasing the properties.
The MP also raised allegations concerning assigned land near K. Chandrashekar Rao's farmhouse and questioned why approximately 300 acres of assigned land in the vicinity had not been distributed to Dalit beneficiaries.
Kiran Kumar Reddy further questioned the changes in the declared assets of BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, saying the public deserved explanations regarding properties that were not reflected in earlier election affidavits.
The Congress leader also alleged that the previous BRS administration had failed to protect assigned lands and accused the former government of leaving the state burdened with debt.
These allegations were made by the Congress leaders during the field visit and represent their political claims; the claims regarding individual property ownership, land acquisition and alleged violations would require verification from official land records and other relevant documents.
