MANGALAGIRI, Sept. 10, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has congratulated young athletes from the Mangalagiri constituency for their performances in state-level competitions and assured them of support as they seek to advance to national and international events.
Twin sisters Sheikh Nazreen and Sheikh Nasreen, Class 10 students at Zilla Parishad High School Plus in Vaddeswaram, met Lokesh at his residence in Undavalli with their family members. The sisters have distinguished themselves in swimming during the 2025-26 season.
At the School Games Federation sports meet in Visakhapatnam, they won three gold and three bronze medals. They later secured one gold and five silver medals at the 2025-26 Association Meet, also held in Visakhapatnam. Their performances earned them selection for national-level competitions.
Lokesh congratulated the sisters and assured them that he would extend all possible support and encouragement to help them compete at national and international levels. School headmistress Uma Sri was present at the meeting.
Lokesh also congratulated D. Dheeraj Srikrishna, a Tadepalli resident who won a gold medal in the Under-17 Yoga Artistic Solo category at the Amaravati Championship 2.0 in Tirupati. Dheeraj met the minister with his family, and Lokesh praised his achievement as a source of pride for Mangalagiri.
