TENALI, Sept. 10, 2026: Former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday remembered late Tamirisa Ramacharyulu as a dedicated BJP leader whose contribution to the party and the people of Tenali would remain an enduring legacy.
The remarks were made at the centenary celebrations of Ramacharyulu at Kavi Ramakrishna Kala Kshetram in Tenali. The event was organised under the leadership of senior BJP leader Yadlapati Raghunatha Babu. As the chief guest, Venkaiah Naidu recalled Ramacharyulu’s long association with the BJP and his service in various party positions.
Venkaiah Naidu said Ramacharyulu had worked with national leaders such as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani, earning their appreciation for his commitment to the party. He said Ramacharyulu consistently treated the problems of Tenali residents as his own and worked to secure solutions.
Recalling one of his efforts, Venkaiah Naidu said Ramacharyulu had worked to ensure train halts at Tenali railway station, reflecting his persistent focus on local issues. He also recalled his personal association with the late leader.
BJP state president PVN Madhav said Ramacharyulu’s dedication to the party and his efforts to address public grievances continued to inspire party workers. He said the present generation had a responsibility to carry forward the ideals and public service associated with Ramacharyulu.
MLC Alapati Rajendra Prasad said the region was fortunate to have produced leaders such as Venkaiah Naidu, whose public life had contributed to enhancing India’s stature. He said Tenali could similarly take pride in Ramacharyulu’s dedicated service to the BJP and the local community.
Rajendra Prasad said Ramacharyulu had worked persistently for the welfare of the people and had pursued issues concerning the welfare and development of temple priests, including taking up their cause before the Supreme Court.
Senior BJP leader Yadlapati Raghunatha Babu said the centenary celebrations were an occasion to remember Ramacharyulu’s contribution to the party and society. He stressed the importance of taking his work and ideals to younger generations.
Earlier, Venkaiah Naidu, Rajendra Prasad and other leaders and well-wishers paid floral tributes to Ramacharyulu’s portrait. Former State Women’s Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari, T. Anantacharyulu, representatives of priests’ associations, supporters and admirers attended the programme.
