AMARAVATI, Sept. 10, 2026: The YSRCP state employees and pensioners’ wing has accused the Andhra Pradesh coalition government of failing to honour its commitments on the payment of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) arrears to government employees, teachers and pensioners.
Nalamaaru Chandrasekhar Reddy, president of the YSRCP Employees and Pensioners’ State Wing, demanded that the government immediately release the pending amounts, saying employees and pensioners were facing growing financial pressure because of the delay.
Reddy said the government had sanctioned only one instalment of DA and DR due from Jan. 1, 2024, after coming to power, with the payment scheduled from October 2025. He said the government had subsequently announced that the arrears for the 21-month period from Jan. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2025, would be paid in four instalments.
According to Reddy, government orders had provided for the first instalment to be paid along with April salaries and pensions and the second instalment with August salaries and pensions. He alleged that these commitments had not been implemented so far.
Citing G.O. Nos. 62 and 63, Reddy urged the government to release the first and second instalments of DA and DR arrears without further delay. He also sought the crediting of employee arrears to their General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts, while amounts due to employees covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme should be deposited into their PRAN accounts. Pensioners, he said, should receive their arrears in cash.
Reddy said employees and pensioners were already dealing with financial difficulties and that continued delays in clearing the arrears were adding to their burden. He called on the government to act on its orders and immediately settle the pending DA and DR payments.
