AMARAVATI, September 23, 2026 | Journalist File: The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 51.15 crore a year for supplying NTR Baby Kits to newborns delivered at government hospitals across the state, Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav said on Wednesday.
The programme is expected to benefit around 2.45 lakh newborns annually, with each kit costing Rs 1,400.22. The kits are designed to provide basic items needed to keep newborns warm, clean and protected during their first days and after they return home.
Each kit includes a baby bed with mosquito net, baby Macintosh, baby clothes, baby towel, three reusable nappies, baby powder, baby shampoo, baby oil, baby soap, soap box, rattle toy and a kit bag.
The minister said the initiative would make essential newborn-care products available to families and contribute to maintaining hygiene, safety and basic care for infants.
The Medical and Health Department issued the government order sanctioning the funds on Wednesday.
