AMARAVATI, September 26, 2026 (Journalist File): VIT-AP University, Amaravati, held its sixth annual convocation on Saturday, awarding degrees to 3,877 students, including 86 PhD scholars and 31 gold medalists. Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge Justice B. Krishnamohan was the chief guest, while Dr. Suchindran K.M., head of the Academic Alliances Group at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), attended as the guest of honour. The ceremony was presided over by VIT founder and Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan.
Addressing the graduating students, Justice Krishnamohan described convocation as an important transition from one phase of life to another. He urged graduates to use the knowledge acquired at the university for the benefit of society, while upholding integrity, justice, constitutional values and respect for the rule of law. He also encouraged students to pursue continuous learning, embrace emerging technologies and explore innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Suchindran said graduates had a responsibility to translate classroom learning into effective professional practice. Continuous learning, adaptability, skill development and innovation, he said, would remain important throughout their careers.
Chancellor G. Viswanathan said the convocation represented the knowledge, perseverance and aspirations of the graduating students. He urged them to carry discipline, professional skills and social responsibility into their careers and contribute to the country's development. He particularly congratulated the 86 PhD scholars and encouraged them to pursue socially relevant research in areas including sustainable development, healthcare, education, technology, environment and inclusive growth.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Arulmozhivarman said the performance of the 2026 graduating batch was reflected in its placement outcomes. The batch recorded an average annual salary package of Rs. 7 lakh, while the highest package stood at Rs. 96.26 lakh, he said. The results, according to the university, reflected its emphasis on industry-oriented education, experiential learning and professional skill development.
