VIJAYAWADA, Sept. 15, 2026: Engineers play a vital role in nation-building, technological advancement and social progress, Dr. Pulala Chandrasekhar, Vice Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, and Registrar Sai Sudheer said on Tuesday.
Speaking at an Engineers’ Day programme organised at the university to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, they recalled his outstanding contributions to the country and the engineering profession. They extended their greetings and appreciation to engineers working across the world, describing Visvesvaraya’s legacy as a lasting source of inspiration for generations.
Dr. Chandrasekhar said Visvesvaraya’s vision, discipline and technical expertise had contributed significantly to India’s development. His approach continued to serve as a model for engineers, he said, adding that engineers were helping improve people’s quality of life through creativity, technological knowledge and innovative thinking.
Registrar Sai Sudheer said Visvesvaraya’s contribution to the making of modern India remained memorable. His dedication, efficiency and engineering skills continued to inspire the younger generation, he said. Engineers must adapt emerging technologies to public needs and develop practical solutions to address changing social challenges, he added.
The Vice Chancellor and Registrar also felicitated and appreciated the engineers and technical staff serving at the university. They praised their contribution to the institution’s development, maintenance of infrastructure and smooth functioning of day-to-day operations.
Calling on engineers to draw inspiration from Visvesvaraya, Dr. Chandrasekhar and Sai Sudheer urged them to use their knowledge and skills for public welfare and national development. University officials, engineers, technical staff and other employees attended the programme.
