After BRICS, Srinivasa Varma Brings Global Developments to AP BJP Leaders

VIJAYAWADA, Sept. 15, 2026: Fresh from the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma returned to Vijayawada on Tuesday and held discussions with Andhra Pradesh BJP leaders, highlighting India’s growing influence on the global stage.

Srinivasa Varma first visited the BJP state headquarters, where he offered special prayers to Lord Ganesha as part of the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations. He later interacted with party leaders and workers and shared his observations from the BRICS summit held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The minister spoke about the growing weight of India in international affairs and the country’s expanding economic and industrial ambitions. He briefed party leaders on the issues raised by India at the BRICS forum and the discussions surrounding trade, economic growth, technology, industrial development and stronger international partnerships.

Srinivasa Varma said India was increasingly asserting its interests on major global platforms and outlined the Modi government’s efforts to deepen relations with countries around the world while creating greater opportunities for India’s economic and industrial growth.

Minister Discusses BJP’s Next Moves in AP

Srinivasa Varma subsequently met BJP state organisational general secretary Madhukar Ji for discussions on the party’s organisational activities in Andhra Pradesh. The two leaders reviewed the party’s ongoing programmes and its future organisational roadmap in the state.

The visit also brought together several senior state BJP leaders and office-bearers, including State Headquarters in-charge Uppalapati Srinivasa Raju, state media in-charge Kilari Dileep, state spokesperson Sheikh Baji, state executive committee member Movvala Subbaiah, NTR district BJP general secretary Pittala Govind, OBC Morcha state vice-president Patnaik and senior leader Kanthamneni Murali.

The minister’s return to the state following the BRICS summit provided an opportunity for party leaders to connect international developments with India’s broader economic and industrial priorities and discuss their political and organisational implications for Andhra Pradesh.
