AMARAVATI, Sept. 11, 2026: BJP national leader and Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over his recent remarks, accusing him of making “desperate statements” because he was unable to accept the progress being made by the coalition government.
Yadav said the political alliance between the Telugu Desam Party, BJP and Jana Sena Party remained strong and could not be weakened by what he described as Jagan’s “distorted” comments.
In a statement, the minister questioned Jagan’s decision to stay away from the Assembly while alleging irregularities in the recent District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment process. Yadav pointed out that Education Minister Nara Lokesh had repeatedly offered to discuss the allegations and asked why Jagan had not accepted the challenge.
“If Jagan is serious about the DSC issue, he should come to the Assembly and debate it before the people,” Yadav said, arguing that an opposition leader had a responsibility to raise public issues in the legislature.
He accused Jagan of choosing to speak before microphones instead of appearing in the elected House to defend his allegations. “The Assembly is the place to raise public issues and give answers. Speaking outside is not enough,” the minister said.
Yadav also criticised Jagan’s comments against the TDP, BJP and Jana Sena alliance, saying the coalition government had been formed through the people’s mandate and was working collectively for the state’s development. He alleged that Jagan was attacking the alliance because he had been unable to accept the electoral verdict.
Responding to Jagan’s reported reference to becoming a “cockroach,” Yadav said it was ironic for the former chief minister to make such remarks after what he described as five years of misgovernance and corruption. He accused the previous administration of damaging the state and failing to address the concerns of young people.
Yadav also raised questions surrounding the killing of Jagan’s paternal uncle and asked the former chief minister to reflect on the reasons behind his political rejection by voters.
“The people have not forgotten the past. They know who did what,” Yadav said, adding that criticism of the present coalition could not erase what he described as the failures of the previous government.
The minister renewed his challenge to Jagan to participate in an Assembly debate on the DSC recruitment issue and unemployment among young people. He said Lokesh was ready to debate the matter and that the government was prepared to establish the facts before the public.
“If you are sincere about the DSC issue and the problems of unemployed youth, come to the Assembly. Let the truth be established before the people,” Yadav said.
